For those wanting the more red effect, if you have the SSW F-104 series and kept the previous effects(look in your effects folder to see if ssw_fx_afterburner is there), then you you can add this: light.X = 9, -10.50, 0.00, 0.40, ssw_fx_afterburner As noted before, for users who prefer the standard non-flame plume effect (during day operations), just comment out which ever effect line you chose to use by adding // at the beginning of the line. For night ops, remove the // entries.

That is nice! A more subtle effect.

Yes! Exactly, different flame plumes under different conditions. Sometimes the pilots utilize a lower burner zone on TO rather than full burner. I have seen this with many fighter types that have modulating afterburners.

Not so, I've seen them in person and seen a flame plume in broad daylight although depending on conditions and engine/fuel factors, it is more visible/less visible at times(also with different coloration from one to the other). The representation I did shows shock diamonds which seem more common to the M53 engine on the Mirage 2000/2000-5 but there was more than one occasion I saw a similar effect from III/V aircraft in full burner. Again, the way the effect I installed may seem overblown but it is optional and a good point here for more research and testing for options to suit different user tastes.

Okay folks, a little quick & dirty throw together package to augment the excellent Mirage IIIB package's Afterburner effect for users who want a flame plume added to the already excellent built in effect. At this point, all the needed files are readily available at Flightsim.com so all I am going to do is reference them here and show the install procedure. I thought about creating a package and uploading it but it would be delayed until I secured customary permissions for re-use and I wanted to get this out now. Also, I take into consideration that the RestuaraviaTeam might decide to update the Afterburner effect so I do not wish to supersede any plans they may already have or wish to update. I have tested the AB effect update and didn't run into to any problems with the gauge/effects interfering with the model or it's own effects. So I feel it is stable for use. In the above images, you'll see there is a thinner "Day Burner" flame plume and a wider "Night Burner" plume. Some may want the latter effect for all around use but you'll have the easy option to edit in/out the effect to suit your desired effect. The wide night burner plume does have a bit of glow built in enhancing the night effect. 1st things first: You'll need to download these files from flightsim.com: f-14dabh.zip --->effects only mig-21ab.zip --->effects only

Zsolt, when I get done testing, I will send you a test copy by email and if it checks out on your system (if it works correctly), I will post it here.

Hows this for a AB flame plume added in? It's easy to add and doesn't seem to interfere with the lights so far in quick testing. Will test further to make sure. If anyone's interested, I'll show how to add this. It is possible to layer two flame plumes to widen the effect out a bit retaining the overall effect visual seen here.

Benoit, It was my pleasure! But it is I and the community that say a much deserved THANK YOU' to you and all the team for this wonderful gift! I have enjoyed my early test flights of the new Mirage and am stunned at it's quality at every level. I must admit a rather embarrassing error on running the check list :icon_lol: not locking the canopy correctly. It is amazing going down the runway in full afterburner and suddenly having a very noisy "sun roof convertible" of a jet fighter. ROFL!

Back seat VC and canopy detail. She's a beauty, absolutely stunning! Flies like a dream(but challenging). It does come with an English manual. Do read it before you fly it!

Hello, Most likely your Java version is not correct. The problem is that aicarriers2 and aicarriers2r2 won't run on current versions of Java and you'll need to backdate your Java install to make aicarriers work. Of course, doing a backdate of Java has potential side effects that will affect certain Java plugins and other Java dependent programs. I am not aware if Lamont Clark or anyone else has come up with a work around or update but at this point, I'd venture to suggest No from my research. If you want to get aicarriers up and running, I'd suggest getting version aicarriers2r2 and on Java jre-1_5_0_11-windows-i586-p(or a conferable version suited for your operating system which can be found at Java's site on the page showing all the legacy versions of Java). You'll need to register with their site to view and download the older versions.

It looks good from this vantage point. Regarding the animations (slats and intake lips), if the movement in this model isn't perfectly matched to the real A/C's movements, it seems that it would be a matter of fine tuning the animations if they are gauge controlled or hard coded? The Afterburner effects to me are similar to the F-111 which when I purchased, I switched out for my own desired effect. But still, the Eurofighter looks on par with the F-111 which is a good model of that type and reason enough for me to place this model on my list to buy in the not too distant future.
