It doesnt matter if you have a registered or unregistered version; (payware or freeware). You just need to have FSUIPC. Thats my understanding. Find the latest download and install FSUIPC and it should work fine. I have his gauge in the Osprey and also Dinos VTOL F35B and it is awesome.....!

PRB started a thread 600 Flyover in Racer's Paddock
So, I tuned into the last five minutes of the practice broadcast for the 600, and there was a section of P-51Ds flying over the track, and the TV crew said they were practicing for the flyover tomorrow. Then they said that Jack Roush is, today, the largest supplier of spare P-51 parts for the Mustang restoration community. I didn't know that.

I was on my way south to cross over the Tehachapi Pass, all the way down around Bakersfield, but when I got to somewhere around Kings Canyon park, the hills were just low enough to get through. I think I should have went north instead... Oh well, there was pretty scenery to look at... I think the only base I was stationed at that hasn't been adequately done for FSX is Pax River. There is a Pax River scenery, but the ramps needed a lot of work, plus the hangars were not good (in my opinion). NC Jim D. Did some hangars foe Saufley Field (another of my duty stations) that were excellent!

There were so many versions of cowlings on these so I shot for the most popular. The earliest long nose had a 'shorter' nose with a cool, stylish S line for the back edge line of the cowling, which was also a vent, but a smaller engine, thus smaller airspeed. Dads was a long nose, but had 6 stacks, (like this green one), but most had two exhaust manifolds instead of 6 stacks. The short side scoops were on some as well, like again on this green one, but most didnt, so I left those off as well. Some cowlings had the wide opening at the prop for a big British spinner, like dads had, but I left that off also as most didnt have that, nor the big spinner. The radial also had variations, like some had wider gaps at the join between fuselage and cowling. Some radial cowlings had a small bump at the bottom of the cowling, some had a bump on the right side. Most didnt, so I made the 'didnt' version. So many versions of cowlings. That was nerve wracking. But at least the wings and fuselage were all mostly the same.

Couple pics from the flight to Vegas. The first shows the vast expanse of the Great Western Desert. I steered south to the VOR station at Peach Springs (PGS) in order to avoid what looked like pretty biggish hills on the direct line to KLAS. From there we zigged back north to the Boulder City VOR (BLD) and then into the giant airport south of the City of Sin, where I made a passable ILS approach to runway 25L.

I'm not at all surprised at where Time Warner came in on the list. Got into it with them the other night when my DVR hard drive was going out. First guy that answered the phone said that he couldn't help me as we're former New Wave customers. Time Warner bought out New Wave a while back and the customer service has dropped big time since the change over.

Part of the issue is how knowledgeable the model designer is about the meaning of those speeds when translating from sometimes very inexact historical data. Innumerable sources quote simply one 'max speed' (not even specifying KIAS, KTAS, MPH) and certainly not recording whether this was "max. attainable speed in level flight" or design Vne. Often a modeler will not question or cross-check this data and simply "makes it so". In fact some of the historical data from the WW II era was deliberately vague in this regard for propaganda purposes. However, we have found examples where Vne was used in the .cfg file, but then the model was tweaked to allow it to reach toward/near this in powered level flight, not just as a limit in a dive. Alternately, aircraft models that can reach real-world Vne (interpreted by the modeler as "max. speed" - level) in level flight then have a .cfg limiting speed much higher to enable speed to increase in a dive. These anomalies don't always show until the model is flight tested against r/w data. Others have more-or-less accurate numbers but the model has been crafted to reach that number at the worst altitude and thus is far too fast at Sea Level. For things like the events of which Paul speaks then would require corrections to be made (and somehow enforced) or the model rendered unacceptable since there is no current way to monitor changes or accuracy of an individual's flight model. While I agree that it would be useful to be able to decompile the data from the tables, building a tool to do so might be more hours of work ( P likes to play with data :icon_lol: ) than the flight testing if done on an ongoing basis.

You have it pretty close. See if this helps It could only receive one signal at a time so rcvr had to be switched from Nav to Com and back. That's the switch on the right. As it was a mechanical slide it also contained the "NAV" or "COM label that showed in the appropriate window. Off/IDENT switch at bottom was for Nav rcvr audio. Yes, the yellow 'flag' should show Off/To/From, No, no Glideslope (VOR/LOC only) another good image here: http://djholman.csde.washington.edu/N5814L/Found/IMG_0746.jpg

But soon there appeared giant mountains along that path, so I made the VOR gauge steer me into KPGA on the 025 radial, which got me a bit south east of the direct track, and missed the big hills. Starting to "get" how to use VOR. Very cool. http://fs-duenna.com/flights/ShowFlight.php?detail=flight&value=m1WJaIBIh37fgCfVgh7kY7P68IU

Paul, Just in case, like if you just reloaded FSX or got a new computer, make sure you have the SP1 and SP2 updates. This might be an issue concerning that. What I think is happening is that for some reason, the ship is up out of water, and it has a airport mated to the deck, so the land is coming up to the deck like it would if it were lover land, like a bad place runway that has the wrong surface altitude with the lay of the land. I'll bet Arno could figure this out quick.
