I've bought a fair amount of Abacus over the years (and got a lot for free when helping test development tools for them or doing reviews for simflight) and back in the day it was adequate. But as a rule these days, anytime I see FS2004 and FSX together in the description of an aircraft I pass it up. That said though they sometimes have acceptable subjects that no other developers have shown an interest in so they may be the only choice. And they have sold a ton of retail packaged add-ons over the years. Possibly more than anyone else? :ernaehrung004:

Nice pics. It's fun to form up on another aircraft you have no control over and stay there. I came up on the right side of a default AI airliner once that had both baggage doors open. :ernaehrung004:

I'll give that a shot. I do prefer the full windowed experience. I guess I must have hit the V key a lot on my old system because I would find a bunch of screenshots in the FSX root folder from time to time. :ernaehrung004:

Absolutely. I've built every one of my PC's after purchasing the first back in the 80's and it was a AT clone anyway. You get to pick and choose your components at discount and in this case may be the only way to get Win7 if you absolutely must as part of the specs. If you've never done it before youtube has a ton of tutorial videos on every aspect. For folks running Win 8 who don't like the cheesy tablet user interface you can do some tweaks to clean it up but I've found using "Classic Shell" to be much more reliable. :ernaehrung004:.

What was the solution? Details please. I was only able to get it to work in Win8 by telling the OS to treat FSX as if it were running on an XP system. I did initially install FSX to the suggested location -- Program Files x86 -- which from reading forums since and in emails from Mark could be an issue. I was not able to get Mark's Su-27 to run and it uses the same security scheme. So location may be the cause.

I installed the FSX Gold version on a new Win8 machine so I didn't have to contend with service packs. Best advise there though is to just install them in numerical order as they were released and do a reboot between each one so the OS can sort things out each time. The only issue I have had with FSX on Win8, and it more a graphics issue, was that if I made a screen shot (hit the Print Screen key) and then jumped out to my graphics program to save it I could not get back into FSX. I'd have to eventually kill FSX using Task Manger. The solution at this time is to run FSX in windowed mode rather than full screen (sized it to be only a couple pixels from all edges) and now it works great. Two issues I guess. I didn't know about installing it into a non-default location and that...

Thanks for the info. I bought it way back when but only used it with the included stuff -- chasing Mirages. Nice to hear it isn't gone and has had some continued following. :ernaehrung004:

No worries, Tom. I did the same thing and got all excited when the Pacer Package announced over there. I thought it was an update of some sort. :ernaehrung004:

Exactly. Nothing new, just a new distributor. All great models nonetheless. :ernaehrung004:

I would love to have this aircraft. The Metro has always been a favorite and I'm pretty sure I made the first one for FS back in FS4 days. But I just can't afford it these days. I'm actually saving my money for the Mirage F1 series Razbam announced three years ago. That's $50 I could justify and would fly the heck out of. :ernaehrung004:

Having had experience in this from a developer standpoint, it also depends on how far the company want to take it. Most companies protect their trademarks in terms of logos and branding, however some also enforce the design work, ie, any aircraft which significantly resembles their product also comes under their trademarks. Gulfstream may have a blanket protection of not just their business logos and branding, but also the likeness of their product, ie their aircraft.

The website works and the forum is in place. Coffee pot is still warm. I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe real life is distracting them. It always seems to get in the way of our hobbies. :ernaehrung004:

Thanks for the reply (and hands-on experience remarks). Definitely not a radar screen. Until we can track an object on the surface or underwater (P3D?) it's just going to stare back at you. :ernaehrung004:

After Bill's emails to Phil at Virtavia we all ran a series of additional tests on the AP (both the included and substituted others) and could find no issues. Baffling but isolated. :ernaehrung004:

Yes TacPack inclusion is planned for FSX, but not until late 2014, early 2015 at the earliest due to existing commitments.

Okay, best to clear things up. :) 1. The Raptor Driver product is an entirely new product, completely unrelated to the IRIS Platinum Series F-22 Raptor, which was re-branded to the Air Dominance Fighter. 2. The new Raptor Driver product is the SAME product as shipped with P3D V2.0 by Lockheed Martin, but marketed for Microsoft Flight Simulator X. 3. The Raptor Driver product features a far more accurate visual model, higher resolution artwork and far more detailed avionics amongst other things. In regards to the artwork, whilst everyone is entitled to their own opinion, (beauty is in the eye of the beholder after all!), Lockheed Martin were very happy and have repeatedly praised the work done on it. Certainly we couldn't ask for higher praise than that. :)

Hi Jeff, Thank you for your feedback, should we decide to make a update to the A-10 in the future, we will seriously consider altering the position of the pod as requested. At this stage though, the volume of code to re-write makes it impractical for something which was essentially a free update. Our new Open Beta programs are in place so those with real world experience can in fact provide feedback to create a better product, we've seen this with both the PC-21 and more recently the new Raptor Driver. In addition, I have on many occasions invited those with real world knowledge of a particular aircraft in development to join the development team, though it does rely on people with knowledge to come forward and approach us during development. :) I apologise if you feel that we...
