The last version of the Marauder's Cowl was an interesting exercise in what could be done in a single component without any significant bleeds. There was no way it could end up in a real aircraft project though because it was not really possible to texture it in a way that would allow reasonable painting. The shape also wasn't quite right. After looking over LOTS of photographs and trying to figure out the best way to simulate all the gradual curves around the Carbureter Intakes, this is what I came up with. It still loses a lot of the subtle curves, but I believe it is close enough to use in a final project. This thing is expensive though. I figure it will cost 7 Components, a dozen or so Parts, and at least one Structure just to get it to a reasonable stage without significant bleeds and that is for each side. For me, this project isn't do-able without SCASM. - Ivan.

Hello Womble55, Is this one also yours? I believe this project has been on my computer since about 2006. - Ivan.

Hello Womble55, Cool Aeroplane! This thing is HUGE! I poked around at it a couple hours ago and found a few issues that don't look difficult to fix. Should I email you? Don't know if I still have your email address. - Ivan.

Thanks for the explanation. It says pretty much the same thing on frozen pizzas' boxes; "pre-heat the oven...":kilroy: That thing is supposed to get to Mach 3 on "rubber and laughing gases" once at full power. My pizza does taste better though...:icon_lol:

It accelerated up to Mach 1.3 in this 16 seconds burst; Anyone could give me a good explanation for the first "flame out" and the re-ignition? Is it normal? Anyway, this craft appears to be very stable under sudden acceleration. We are definitely eons away from Yeager's "Glamorous Glennis".:applause:

I don't believe all Hamilton Standard Propellers had the same pitch ranges. Note that the propellers on the Japanese A6M Type Zero Fighter only had a range of about 20 degrees and for the A6M5 was 29-49 degrees. This is a pretty reliable number since it is from their own operations manual for the type. It is also possible to have the pitch range out of adjustment as was done with the A6M2 captured by the AVG and tested. This implies that the low and high pitch stops were changeable and might vary significantly between types. - Ivan.

Thank all of ya'll for your words and support. Although we can never replace Ida, We added a new addition to our family yesterday. Her name is Gracy...she is an eight week old English Bulldog, full of piss and vinegar. This should keep my wifes mind off of Ida for several weeks to come, I do not do the house breaking part of the deal.
