Cees, You must be flying another P51 than I do, I have mirrors both in the external model as I have in the VC

If you can visit museums at unfashionable times of the year, it's surprising what you can get a closer look at: the goons at Hendon are still looking for a wild-eyed hirsute lunatic with the audacity to poke a camera through the open window of a Messerschmitt and photograph as much as possible of the instrumentation. On the other hand, RAF Cosford holds Cockpit Days in autumn when lucky ticket holders get close up and personal with some of the most prized exhibits. Yours truly wishes he could wangle a visit on these occasions!

If you want to know if someone is still around, look at the person's profile page: the time and date of their last visit is usually given. I know Bravo/4 has been around lately (last night, in fact), but ndicki is a more occasional visitor. I expect both will see this thread in time, but bear in mind it's holiday season in European latitudes.

Thanks for the update!! :jump: Talking about Paint Shop, if possible and if the skinner is inspired by this one, I would really appreciate it. Unit: 422nd NFS, USAAF Serial: 25569 (42-5569) Crew: Lt. B. Heflin, FO W. B. Besach (RAF). Vannes, France, October 1944 I was born in Vannes and I built a mission that depicts the activity of this squadron when it was stationed there, it was released in the Atlantic Wall misson pack using a P38-M and I can rework it to use a Black Widow with a 422nd NFS skin.

That's correct, for a .mos to work you cannot have alpha on the texture referenced by the .mos file.

That's a very ambitious plan Chris! I did toy with the idea myself at one time but didn't fancy all the time involved.:dizzy: Off the top of my head I think you would need: 1) One plain camo texture minus markings would cover all squadrons (or 2 to be more correct to have the A and B camo schemes represented). 2) One m3d for each squadron (or 2 if you had the A and B schemes) 3) One .mos file (or 2 if you had the A and B schemes) for each squadron with a set of layers with markings for each of the 12 aircraft. There are downloadable fonts around for the lettering (although this does vary squadron to squadron) and for the roundels and tail markings too.

Cees, Bram van de Stok indeed flew the 234 on the 10th of May 1940, but the Dutch pilots didn't have their own aircraft. On his first flight on May 10th van der Stok (03:00hr) flew the 233, with which he shot one Bf109 (and most probably damaged an other). On his second (06:15hr) and third flight (12:00hr) he flew the 234. However this aircraft was hit by German fighters during take off and caught fire. There is a picture taken by van der Stok from his burning aircraft at de Kooy. This is the only picture I could find from the 234. The 233 was damaged beyond repair during an attack around 08:00 and was used for spare parts. After the 10th of May van der Stok flew several aircraft including the 221, the 235 and the 240.
