Dear all, As you all most probably know the Sim-Outhouse is a crowd funded organisation purely ran by volunteers. This year is an expensive year as we would like to replace the aging main server on which the forums run and which contains the file library. Since a couple of months this server is giving error messages, which is not a good sign. For a more detailed explanation I would like to refer to this post. While I write this, the counter tell me we still need over 40%. When we don't succeed in raising the needed amount of money, we will most not be able to keep the SOH as we currently know it.

Here is a heads up on the SOH server, with three weeks left to meet our goal. At the time of this posting we are at 59%. Payday is approaching and we are hoping this will allow us to gather the remaining 41%. We must face facts. If we don't meet our goal please consider what SOH can do without. As time gets closer we will post a list of options we can forgo to pay the bills. Those who have contributed please accept our sincere thanks for keeping us advertising and pop-up free.

Very nice repaints Steve! The oily olive green looks perfect! I prefer the lines of the early Mustangs, however when I would have to take them into combat I think I would have preferred the view from the D version cockpit. Cheers, Huub

Have just read that W7 support will continue until Jan 14th 2020. That's cool as I'm looking at a new PC now and it'll most likely be W7 64b. So as long as I can still run CFS3 and WoFF at decent settings I'm quite happy, anything fancy I can do on my phone. :0)

Joseph, we are a crowd funded organisation purely ran by volunteers. As we don’t have stockholders or employ people we don’t really have an annual report or something similar. The money we try to raise with our donation drive is spend to keep two servers running in an professionally ran data centre. Over the past years file sizes have increased and so did the number of files in our library. So we need disk space but also sufficient bandwidth. The voluntary staff as a team discusses where to spend money and how to run the SOH as cheap as possible. In our decision where to spend money we try to listen to wishes of the members. In the end it is a matter of trust and how much you care about the SOH. Perhaps somtimes we have the "best buy" and in other case we perhaps could have found a...

That's a good idea Allen, I hadn't thought of that. CFS3 models can't be read by MCX so I haven't been down that route, plus the CFS3 exporter is pretty quick. However an FSX model with specular and bump textures would be best checked in FSX itself.

Thanks Mike! :) Have emailed you. I'll tidy up what I can with the boxes whilst I'm at it. I also want to add a pylon in for a glider. I remember you working on that Mark, please release it! :applause:

Gmax doesn't do renders: it is actually 3ds Max 4.2 with the rendering, file i/o and NURBS removed. Discreet made it that way so it wouldn't destroy sales of Max but could be used with the appropriate gamepack to build game add-ons. We always check our models in FS, there's no alternative when developing with Gmax. BTW, if you're trying the P-38 tutorial in the Gmax help files, you should know the model will be backwards in FS: it's because DirectX and Gmax use different coordinate systems, one is left-handed and the other right-handed. Your model should be pointing UP in the Top view to be correct. Also, if you hit W you maximise the viewport you're working in. ;-)

Hi all, I know this is a long shot but does anyone still have the source model for the C47? The cockpit could do with the mapping tidying up a little, would willingly do the work if I could get hold of the model please! Thanks, Clive
