Okay, this is the Michigan TM-5. They also built the Dallas-Breese X which evolved into the Vultee V-1A (same designer). "TM-5 1930 = 1pChwM; 120hp Dayton Bear. Engine was in a pod mounted atop the cabin. c/n 1. Reported scrapped and burned 9/3/30, reg cancelled 9/5/30" Open board please.

Yep, I know I won't always have the ability to get up close photos of every building I will do, but it sure is nice to be this close to the airport and have the chance to go there and get new photos whenever I need them. I guess the two things I'm working through right now are getting the textures onto as few sheets as possible (right now, every texture is separate) and "where do I stop" with the custom buildings and rely on default or other objects to fill in, lol.

In my case, I installed a program that used files with the same extension (.air), and that program "took over" the file association without asking. Something like this may have happened. Milton's suggestion should fix it. In the case of Win7, you right-click, select "Open-with", then "Choose default program..."

There are four of these large hangars on the airport, so this will fill the flightline pretty quickly and only one of them has changed considerably after being renovated by a "wealthy tenant", lol. . . .but at least I have the basic structure and I can add on to make the new portions he added.

Who knows! The company produced one other design, a low wing monoplane that looked vaguely like a Vultee V-1. Edit: Here is an ad for the actual engine.

Yep. Amazing. On the other hand, I still think his team mate Kane is one of the coolest characters in the field. And by cool I don't mean "yo! dude!", but calm under pressure. See how he reached into his flaming car to activate the fire extinguisher after getting out? We usually just see the drivers run away from their flaming rides, which is perfectly understandable!

Do that, Matt - Yeovilton used to be my regular aviation haunt - I love that place. Years ago, your visit was almost certainly rewarded with the Sea Fury, Firefly or Swordfish on a check flight or all three departing for an airshow. The museum was sensational - that's where I fell in love with the big American radial CATS! Big, staunch, beautifully engineered, carrierworthy babies towering over the FA birds. When I was at secondary school in Torquay during the early '70's, we'd get a Camberra flyover every Thursday as regular as clockwork (undersurfaces yellow/black diagonal stripes). A REALLY extra treat would be the appearance of a Sea Vixen - man what a lorry of a crate!

I'm not sure, from the VC on short final it was looking like the approach angle was a little low, but should touchdown about the rear deck elevator. The landing wasn't looking perfect, but good enough that I didn't "take the wave off" & go around. Hit the deck and pieces started flying. It dropped down on the belly and slid up to where it's at in the pic (the bow was starting to look awful close as I was sliding towards it). I've been having issues with the Seafire and the MAAM CVL anyway. Touch down between the rear elevator and the stern and it automatically crashes. So, I've been landing a little long onto the second group of wires forward of the elevator. But I took off from there this morning and flew on to Hong Kong where I landed on the USS Lexington in the harbor with no problems.

We flew up river to Kiunga or something like that. Nice flight over the jungle and just glad I didn't have to make an emergency landing. I hear some of the people living there like to have you for dinner. Anyway, we're getting ready to cross some tall hills so I was checking the emergency supplies in the back and found a couple of crates that could come in handy...

Re the original question: In FS9's sound folder there was a GPWS folder inside of which was a wav file for each of the altitude call outs. The files were called "10.wav", 100.wav", "200.wav", etc. These were the standard wav files for the "dude" calling out altitudes during approach. The "DON'T SINK" and "PULL UP" wav files were in there as well. I found a sexy female voice version of all those files on AVSIM or someplace and replaced them. I've been looking through my backed up FSX files (my FS computer is "T.U.") but I can't find where they're located in FSX. They may be specific to the aircraft's sound folder. Seems to me you should be able to replace them the same way.

Well, took the Goose on it's first leg and let's just say that it's not all the guy I bought it from made it out to be. The engines sound like sick washing machines and seem to run either at idle or wide open. Anyway, we made it to PNG and I've got to break out the tool kit and see what I can do with it. Maybe I should have spent less time kicking the tires and more time for a test flight.

Another part of the same airport. The Fire Station sits right next to the Terminal. I realize these are simple buildings to most who have done this for a while and it's probably "ho hum" to most, but making that leap beyond. . ."no way I'll ever figure this out". . .to this, is exciting.

Willy, I've been thinking of re-installing FS9 with all the Cal Classic AI traffic and scenery.I remember some time ago Tom Gibson telling me that golden wings wouldn't work very well with the Cal Classic scenery and that I'd be better off using the Silver Wings pack for the textures, etc. I do like some of the Golden Wings AI stuff.
Anyway, if one uses the Cal Classic scenery, does the old FS Genesis mesh work with it or do ya have to stick with default mesh in the areas that the Cal Classic scenery is in?
I'm curious AS to what your setup is like.

In other news,We're doin' ok....up here in the mountains with our bibles and guns, lol. My grandkids are now living with us and that, my friend, is a real treat. We enrolled them in school up here and altho the schools follow the California State curriculum, the teachers are far more conservative then they were where the kids were living in the SF bay area altho it did conceern me that yesterday, Dec 7, my oldest granson, William , said trhat not one teacher mentioned Pearl Harbor......That strikes me as wrong and I guess I'm gonna hafta start making appearences at school board meetings and the like. I do the best I can to teach them about freedom, the constitution, etc but I sure would like the schools to teach it more.
I hope all is going well with you and yours and just so ya know I did not succumb to the demon rum during this last few weeks or so. I went to a memorial for my folks...I got a band together and we played at it...at one point I was listening to some guy spouting all this crap about how wonderful my Mom and Dad were and how generous and all this other stuff and I was in the kitchen of this hall with one of the guys in the band and told him "These folks don't know how lucky they are that I no longer drink". It cracked the guy up....I seem to have a very low tolerance for bull**** but at least through being sober, most of the time I can keep a neutral outward appearence, lol.
Anyway, have a great day, my friend...mid
