Hi Good People, The 1930's era Stag Lane Aerodrome - de Havilland First Factory and test airfield is now available on the Scenery page of the Ford Tri-Motor Project site. As it is a Ford Project is has, of course, a title of Ford-de-Havilland.zip and is designed to go into the Addon Scenery directory as such - simply for easier file management for those that would, at a later stage, want to clean up their Ford Project stuff. This is a nice tidy little scenery pack - only 4.7mb but she is full of tons of stuff - lots of new models created and a chunk cut out of a modern day London suburb to accommodate this historical scenery - tried, using google earth to get as near as possible to Stag Lane's genuine location. Anyway - the scenery is now ready for your flying pleasure - great little aerodrome for small aircraft flying and only a short hop to London and a plethora of, dare I say it, modern airfields.

I am working now on finalising the package - readme's and fine tuning the slideshow etc and the tweaking necessary to add it to the Ford Tri-Motor Project site. Works out at a tidy little package of less than 5mb - not bad considering all of the new scenery model objects I had to create to get the gist of the factory area looking close to right. Should be available in the next day or two. Regards

Hi Simmers, Thanks Jinx for your informative post about the ATC issue. Interesting and now noted. However, let me offer an alternative thought to this thread. After all these years some simmers have still not got the gist of FREEWARE - Nice to have perfection from Freeware developers, and many strive to achieve that, however, demanding perfection or complaining publicly about little things that the Freeware developers may miss is biting the hand that feeds this community. All Freeware developers that I know of, and I know quiet a few, welcome helpful support, input and critiques from the community. That helps them develop better product to share with the community in the future. But an absolute irritant is those end users who yell in bold lettering in the public media about minor things that FREEWARE Developers are failing to do to meet their perceived important needs.

Thanks for the feedback - seems that the Music Feature is an IE exclusive - sorry that the other browsers can't handle the streaming from within FrontPage. But not to worry - many will still enjoy it. Still end up bopping up and down on the Puzzle Page - very catchy music that one.....:wiggle: Good to hear from you Tom, brings back fond memories of the Transload days - my regards to Dan as well. Anyway time for bed down here is Australia - happy simming to all.

Speaking for myself as someone who splashes a bit of paint now and again, and guilty of the charge. What can I say ? I like too paint and couldn't care less for the paperwork. I give my paints away for free and include the basic entries too get the repaint showing in sim. If the lack of ATC is a problem then feel free to ignore my offerings, or be willing too spend a few minutes tweaking the aircraft config entries too your own particular tastes. Steve

Thanks for the HU jeansy. I have RW experience with the Canadian North Q100's but this Q400 is a different animal for sure. I am interested especially after someone painted a Air Greenland for the new Dash.

Hi Good People, Some will love the tweaking we have done over at the Ford Tri-Motor Project Site and some will hate it - but Ed and I thought - what the heck - lets add a bit more entertainment to the site. We have added some streamed music to various pages on the site - most of it era correct and a couple of tunes that are popular and enjoyable. The streaming does not appear to hinder the overall performance of the site or pages visited - those pages that have music imbedded will have the music start 10 to 15 seconds after the page loads the first time after that it is instant for each page re-visit. NOTE: Works in IE - not in Safari - don't know about other browsers.

Les Munro, who is the sole remaining pilot of the group, is a member of our Classic Flyers Museum ( Tauranga NZ ). He lives locally down here. We are honoured to have him as one of us. I was also privileged to take him flying in our Stearman several years ago. Pete.

Hi Good People, Just a heads up - getting near the completion stage of a new scenery pack for the Ford Tri-Motor Project - nice tidy little Stag Lane Aerodrome, the original home of the de Havilland Factory - where the great DH80 and other historical aircraft were initially created and manufactured. This is a fairly compact scenery set - only just over 4megs - contains over 15 unique models that I created specifically for this scenery - including two static DH80 Model (created from Milton's DH80) and a batch of hangars/factory buildings. Suplimented by the ez-uk-buildings.bgl pack distributed as freeware by: Colin Green which I used to create the town/village area nearby. Here is a quick snapshot of what it looks like at the moment - should be totally finished off early next week.

I cant offer a good answer on why Afghanistan isn't buying with there money. However on the purchase of Russian Helo's I can somewhat. Most if not all of Afghanistan's Pilots and crews are trained on Russian Equipment. If US made Helo's were bought and sent , the cost goes way up. You would have re train Crews and pilots and that will almost increase and excel the cost and extend the afghan mission. By going to Russian made you wont encounter that increase cost of training and also Russian Helo's are cheap. So in a way US Tax Payers are actually saving by going the Russian Route on Helo's for Afghanistan. Just my train of thought on this.

ARGGH those textures are just wrong. THe base colour is not bad, but I have never seen an RAF Typhoon with a different colour nose, and those Sqn markings are simply not up to payware quality. Lets hope I get the paintkit I have paid for soon, so I can fix this:salute:

creating an aircraft, that allows the end user to select whatever they want as payload is not hard, as many of us developers have done. So it would not be too difficult for JF to follow. The FSX code for custom payloads is very easy

all well and good, but the description clearly states a painkit is included in my purchase and it is not! So that is false advertising. You really should not sell something unless it is ready to sell. it's like selling me a TV and telling me the remote control will be coming next week!

A bit surprised no one has posted this. Last weekend, a crash at the Madrid Airshow had tragic consequences. "Experienced jet pilot Ladislao Tejedor Romero, a 35-year-old assistant to Spanish defense minister Pedro Morenes, died of his injuries after being taken to the serious burns unit of Getafe hospital. Filipino Mr Romero was flying a HA-200 Saeta two-seater jet, which was built in the 1950s as an advanced jet trainer by Hispano Aviacion." http://metro.co.uk/2013/05/06/pilot-dies-in-airshow-crash-near-madrid-3713998/?oo=ffx

Yes - it is me again :wiggle: To finish off the very busy batch of stuff that Edward and I have created for your enjoyment is a batch of five new Floats Version liveries for Milton Shupe's excellent DH80a Floats girl. Of course these are available from the Ford Tri Motor Project Site - again very expensive - FREE plus time and effort for you to install into the Floats version. If you don't have the floats version yet - you can get it from the Ford Project site - she is included in the Main Package available at the top of the DH80 Page. To get to the DH80 Page you simply click on the "OTHER AIRCRAFT" button and it will guide you to the DH80 page.

Hi Good People, Another little bonus from the Ford Project Team - a small pack of racing liveries for the Milton Shupe DH80a girl. Not that she could ever be a racer, but Edward thought some simmers might like to use this very steady and stable girl with friends doing some formation flying and a bit of fun racing in multi sessions - so here they are for your flying pleasure - all for FREE. There is a bonus of an extra livery in the pack so you get 5 for the price of 4 - what am I saying - you get it for FREE :wiggle:

I don't know if you caught it, but both of the first two links are to sites naming Sicuro Publishing. I can't see what the difference would be. As for the Richmond Hill address they mention, it seems it might be a work-around for some issue as there are numerous sets of plans for sale on Ebay (with some differences between Can. and the US sites?) using a Richmond Hill location in the ads. Maybe Ebay won't accept Italian company ads in N. America. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Vought-F4U-1-Aircraft-Blueprints-Assembly-Drawings-/111057112743?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19db850ea7 you might also look here, although their list seems short http://aviationshoppe.com/f4u-corsair-p-259.html

One of the entertaining things about working undercover as a janitor at the Top of the Mark is getting to listen in to, and learn about the 'encounters' of the guests. Maybe I shouldn't tell tales, but it seems the "Murph" or Ms Murphy that GO was chatting up was one of the family sales reps for After he passed out.. err wandered off, I heard her say something to her friend about "how that fella was looking to get his clock cleaned..." We got to kidding about it in the break room and one of the guys said that when he worked at Santa Anita race track they used Murphy's to wash horses... and then he added 'saddles' but I think he was chuckling about something else :icon_eek:
