    A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category FSX Skins Description: This is a repaint of the excellent freeware Mirage IIIB by Restauravia to represent a Royal Australian Air Force Mirage IIIE, A3-105, that suffered an undercarriage failure in April 1984, causing the crew to eject safely. The aircraft crashed nose-down in a bog about 7 miles east of Darwin NT and was recovered by helicopter. The tail section remains at the Australian Aviation Heritage Museum in Darwin. The repaint depicts the aircraft in the temporary brown and green camouflage scheme applied for Exercise Pitch Black in early 1984, just prior to its loss. There are significant differences between the Mirage IIIB and IIIE so this is a general representation only. To check it out, rate it or add comments, visit GAMD Mirage IIIE of No. 2 OCU, RAAF.zip The comments you make there will appear in the posts below.

    I watched the music video for "Clouds" and the documentary, but I still wanted to know more. I checked out his Caring Bridge page. You can see everything there, from his diagnosis, treatments, his music career, to when he passed away. It is surreal in many ways. It makes me appreciate my life even more. I never heard of him before a few days ago but he made an impact on my life and has started to change my outlook on death. A coworker's son was diagnosed with Leukemia in February this year. Zach's story gave me some insight into what my coworker must be dealing with. I hope their story ends differently. I am thankful cancer doesn't really run in either of my parents' families. It seems a whole lot of people are affected by it nowadays. RIP Zach. The world needs more people like you. :engel016:

    For anyone wanting external camera views cut and paste the following to the bottom of the aircraft.cfg file. No dramatic viewing angles here and I can't claim credit. I found them in a French language forum discussing the IIIB. :ernae: Title = tail GUID = {4E126668-33A6-4b2f-A8CE-7E2924D8EEB3} Description = view of the rear of the aircraft Origin = Center SnapPbhAdjust = Swivel SnapPbhReturn = FALSE

    The v2.2 Update corrected some texture mapping issues. In particular the rudder was now mapped correctly with left and right sides rather than one side mirrored to the other. This led to several updated repaints. http://www.mirage4fs.com/rafale_all.html :ernae:

    That looks great Dave. Way back in January 2008 J.E. Narcizo released a IIIBE (or IIID like you need) as part of a IIIE package. It was for FS2004 though. But it is the correct engine and nose. :ernae:

    That would be very nice of you John ! ;) I noticed the SU T-6 (vol 1 + 2) were underpowered indeed; Formation flight with the Ant's T-28 very hard to achieve because of the lack of power of the T-6. But I still like very much the SU T-6 and the variety of models;

    Here's A3-105 (the one at Darwin) in its final form with a temporary green/brown camo scheme applied for Exercise Pitch Black in early 1984, and that it was wearing when it went down. I've redone the spec files, redrawn most of the stencil work and scalloped the camo paint margins. It's just a pity there's not a genuine IIID to hang these RAAF skins on. Still this is a beautiful freeware add-on! Cheers to Restauravia!:icon29: DaveQ

    You must be missing a file. Check the Effects folder for a file named "fx_CVN65_wake.fx". It is one of 15 effects files installed that begins with the name "fx_CVN65_". If it isn't there, reinstall. If that doesn't fix it download again and reinstall. :ernae:

And I have to agree. :icon_lol: And that their squadron insignia (SPA badges) have origins going back to WWI units.

    An awesome piece of freeware!!! Well done to all at Restauravia!!:icon29: Sadly this was the only one I ever saw, at the Australian Aviation Heritage Centre in Darwin NT. This is the tail of IIID A3-105 of No 2 OCU at Tyndall; it crashed east of Darwin in April 1984 following an undercarriage failure at night. The crew ejected safely and it came down nose first in a bog. With all due respect to riveteers, I'll do this one in one of its many paint scemes. DaveQ

    I think non-moving barber poles may indicate no electricity. Interesting in your images also the different coloring of the cockpit. Different ADI as well. The top one doesn't indicate heading.

    Sorry I haven't read the entire thread but does anyone have any information on how the gear position indicators (set of three on left side of the panel) should look at various times? I know they say "UP" when the gear is retracted and they show stripes (barberpole?) other times. But is there a definite indication when the gear is in transition and when it is down and locked? Also when there is no electricity as in dark and cold startup? I'm talking about the real aircraft not so much what Alphasim might have done with their model although applying this info is the end goal. I don't have a copy of a pilot manual for the F-8 otherwise I'd dig in there. Any help is appreciated. :ernae:

    The ATC entries are one of the first things I check for and anytime a developer lets me preview or beta test for them I always make it work right on my copy, test it, and then give them the info on how to fix it along with examples of why they would want to do it. So far they all seem to appreciate the feedback and I smile when I find my changes incorporated in the released product. It's really quite simple to get it right. And of course my repaints get the full treatment. I may not get the right textures in the right package (M3B_CEAM for example, twice) but the right ATC bits get in there. :icon_lol: :ernae:

    Hello everyone, Here are 3 short videos of a new serie I called "addon-capsule". The concept is "Have a look before you buy". Usually, when an add-on is released, to make up my mind about a possible purchase, I like to visit forums, read what people say and look at screenshots. But Screenshots are only still pictures, often enhanced. Some videos are released too, sometimes fantastic videos with a lot of effects and music (I like to make more artistic videos as well). What I miss to make a decision whenever I am not 100% sure of the product is a kind of "walkaround" video that just shows the add-on as if it was already in my FSX and I was walking around or sit in the cockpit. No inflight view. No Fancy effect, no music, and no alteration of the colour, tint... Thats what I am trying to do with those addon-capsule videos. Open the capsule, walk around the add-on and make up your mind :) QualityWings AVRO RJ 85:
