Can OrbX' FTX Trees HD be used for commercial products or is it strictly for freeware projects? :ernaehrung004:

Sounds like the replacement prop blur and rpm mod would be good candidates for an SP. An additional MDL with a set of slipper tanks (and updated paintkit to include the tanks) would be awesome. Kent

GE, Thanks for taking the confusion out of these nice freeware gems. Now I just hope that the mods designated for the Sovereign get posted here, unless they are already included in the link of the leading post. NC, Add the following to the section in the aircraft.cfg file to get the landing lights to work:

Baz, Just read the paint kit portion of the manual...Could you please explain how an MDL that is "a very cut down paint kit model that only handles the parts that are needed to make a new livery" would be used? I'm used to just copying an existing variant folder, replacing the textures with those I have modified, then adding a new entry to the aircraft.cfg file. What am I missing here? Kent

No I haven't-- because for SOME reason, my Adobe Acrobat X is refusing to launch. I'll e-mail it to my other computer, and try opening it from over there-- hey-- maybe the additional MDL is a glass nosed model!!!!!!! K

Fair question Baz: Actually, I was commenting with respect to JensOle's comment about it apparently requiring the latest programs. I've already popped the PK open, since I've got CS6-- so that is not a problem for me. My point was that many might not have the latest & greatest to open the files. Here's a question: Why does the PK appear to have an MDL file in it (in addition to the textures themselves)? Kent

Bought it...handles like I would expect it to. Paintkit is "less than optimum (!)" so that will limit repaints unless someone decides to create and post a paintkit, and there are no togglable underwing stores (thinking Coastal Command) in addition to not having the option of slipper tanks. Great if you like recreating Operation Jericho and 633 Squadron... A PR variant (would even settle for a standard, non-PR glass nosed version) would be an awesome stablemate (external model only...recognize additional VC would just suck up resources and time, and make turning a profit hard). The FDE is a marked improvement over past representations. Kent

Dave, I had a top down look at the lights position, and it seems to be just fine with my personal adjustments. I have played with the forward position for a while last night, and thought this was the soft spot (at least for me). And I have to say that I never zoom that far in when flying an aircraft. But of course you can always position them further forward if desired.

Okay, maybe it's just me, but this thread is so confusing two versions of the Citation being discussed. I have been messing with the lights, as the fixes mentioned here seem to need adjustments in my sim. I read that someone stated that the Sovereign has landing lights built in to the model, but I was not seing them, so I used the latest fix posted here, and adjusted the coordinates. Don't want to confuse this thread even more by posting another light fix, but at least I finally got all the lights showing in the right spot. I do love flying this gem in and out of my Rockies Sky resorts.

I've always liked the MiG-21 and especially the Ivan Jurcaga MiG-21MF. Great video. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to the mid-life upgrade. Also nice to see the Captain Sim weapons package getting some use and in an appropriate aircraft. I also have Tacpack so looking forward to that option as well. :ernaehrung004:

It is all Copyrighted and still falls under the Microsoft Flightsim EULA (as does even the Dove Tail Games FSX-SE version as they have stated themselves). If the old Alphasim aircraft you want to mess with isn't available for download from the Virtavia freeware page my advise would be stay away from it. Finding copies anywhere else means you are playing with an unsanctioned (and possibly/probably illegally uploaded) copy. You are of course (if your conscience allows) able to manipulate the files anyway you can -- keeping in mind that is what it means when the EULA says don't "reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble". But if you do keep it for your personal use but do not upload anywhere (as the EULA further states) because then you involve the host of the file depository. ...

This is not unusual. It means they are so old MCX can't deal with this. Probably pre-FS9 vintage. :ernaehrung004:

Hi Kent, Didn't you have a MCAS El Toro in the works back in Nov 2008? Any status? Regards, Bill
