The individual carrier gets it's frequency from the gauges/RFN_Carrier.xml file. The frequencies can all be the same for every Nimitz (for example) unless you have some tracks with the same carrier within say 100 miles of each other. In which case the gauge will point to the closest and you really won't know which version of the carrier you are flying to until you get within visial range. If you give then individual frequencies or make sure they are spaced greater than 100 miles it won't be a problem. The main thing that matters is that the "title=" line in the sim.cfg of the carrier must match the "Sim_Name=" line for that particular carrier in the gauges/RFN_Carrier.xml file. If that is true and the carrier is actually out there within 100 miles and you have tuned the assigned frequency (from the RFN_Carrier.xml file) the gauge will find it. If it doesn't, change the frequency on the dial and then change it back. The refresh will usually make it find the carrier. Hope this helps. Please keep asking questions. I helped with the translation of the manual from French to English (along with Benoit Dubé) so I know how it all works pretty well. :ernae:

You can edit the "gauges\RFN_Carriers.xml" file to add those missing carriers or change the frequencies so that they don't overlap others. Check your gauges folder for the previous version's "Carrier.xml" file. Since the latest version (4.0+) changed the name of the xml file to "RFN_Carriers.xml" your previous should be intact. You should be able to pull information from it to add to the new one in the new format. Hope this helps. :ernae:

Thanks for the comments SpazSinbad. Was just suggesting the RFN package an option. Supposedly former French F-8 and Etendard pilots helped with it. But that's always been the nice thing about the open community of FS, plenty of options. Dantes Light Fix is a great example. :ernae:

I remember it well. I was living and working in LA back in those days. Despite the hot weather, NO ONE slept with the windows open at night.
