I've got it! A few days now. I'm making a lot of progres with my landings. Great program! It loads as I start up FSX! Been only flying carrier approaches since then! Cees

Hey Dave, Wise move - I would suggest that, as you're not running DX10. The older ported model works excellent in FSX+Accel w/o DX10, so that's what I'd advise. This model, resolves the DX10 texture issues, but has a bunch of weird animation issues. Admittedly, David did say it's a "WIP" so here's hoping to get maybe a few things sorted in time. It'd be a super model, even if you had to add a "borrowed" payware VC to it. That part worked well, btw. dl

So reinstalled this, and noticed a few wonky points .... I know its an FGR, but, in a pinch, would be a decent K stand-in ... wings wont fold tail hook triggers a funky vapour Nose gear pivots feverishly around its rotational axis, and is always extended

You're likely thinking of the old Golden Wings 3, Silverwings, etc in FS9, where the global urban density, autogen styling, etc reflected those older periods (1930s and 1950s respectively). That's (to date) not available, to my knowledge, in a "macro" sense, like those packages. But, as RM points out, you can have pretty darn good retro airports from Calclassic (and a few others), so the "micro" environment of a given airfield and its associated AI can be of a certain period. If there was an FSX equivalent to GW/SW, I'd be all over it, and indeed the absence of it, was why I held on to FS9 for as long as I did, until around 2010 or so. It'd be a massive undertaking, and there's a good reason that Lynn and Bill Lyons are considered revered and one-of a kind developers for those...

How do I do that? I want put in some notes in the aircraft reference part of the kneeboard. Approach speed and stallspeed, that kind of stuff. :wavey: Cees

Here's a first video of the PMDG DC-6 and it looks awesome! Well, the VC, that is. No external view yet. And it's the X-Plane version but we FSX DC-6 lovers wouldn't want to miss this, would we ! One of the developers told me that we can expect the FSX version only a very short while after the X-Plane version has been released. There's a long view of the X-Plane scenery first (doesn't look half bad ! ) so if you want to go straight to the office put the time counter at 3.25. It's the bees knees ! :encouragement: Btw, doesn't X-Plane produce VC shadows ??.... If that's true i bet the FSX VC will look even better...

Javis started a thread PMDG DC-6 in sight ! in X-Plane
You obviously know how X-Plane scenery looks today so if you want to go straight to the office put the time counter at 3.25 and be amazed. It's the bees knees ! :encouragement: It is said that the X-Plane version will be released first. Check out those rows of fuses in the back. They'll all work ! :icon_eek: Btw, doesn't X-Plane produce VC shadows ??.....

That's it, Dave(s) ... I've had it with the teasing! :redfire: I'll be installing that Iris FSX beta model tonight, slaving it to the Milviz VC (hoping that works) - and I seem to recall Henk or someone saying that the old repaints would work, with some finagelling ... dl

I've posted WIP / beta shots before - but for now, Bernie Bockheim has released this as a beta. Personally, I think it's already a wonderful finished product. Go back to 1962. John Glenn finally orbits the earth. John F. Kennedy inspires the imaginations (and federal pocketbooks) to pursue a moon landing. The 'Cape, before there was a gigantic VAB and enormous infrastructure, available now for your enjoyment. Features: Mercury (Redstone and Atlas) launch complexes Mission Control building - there was not "Houston" yet - missions were controlled at the Cape at this point. Animated Radar. Hangar S - complete with a presidential entourage, media (flashbulb camera effects). Well modeled astronaut transfer van, Mercury capsule, and other unique visual NASA-related gems.

Can't agree more. Design carrier (or any kind of ship) formations from any of your existing AI ships, add plane guard helos, in about as much time as it's taken to type this. No messing with timetables, schedules, watches, and astrolabes waiting/hoping for your carrier to show up right when you want to come aboard. Spawn your personalised carrier / shipping formations whenever / wherever you are - on demand. Sheer brilliance for when you just don't have time to hunt around for the boat. Stop, advance, and turn your formation at will, delete and load another immediately. Once installed, you only ever have to edit 1 .cfg if you want to add / edit your carrier formations. No harder than editing an aircraft.cfg to add a repaint. If you plan to do carrier flying in FSX, it's a must...

Hello fellows/gals. So the subject is Mr. Maltby's great freeware Trident models. In FSX+Accel+DX10, it looks very good, gauges, windows, etc. However, even with the Fixer, I still get "chrome" looking VC textures on the control yoke, the seats, and the throttle levers. In the exterior view, the wheels (rims, not tires) are also chrome. Now I can live with the latter (who doesn't like mag wheels? :biggrin-new:) but it'd sure be nice to fix the textures on the control yoke. Note, his BAC-1-11 is fine, proper dark textures on all the aforementioned cockpit and wheel parts. Anyone else noticed this? thanks,

    Hey Jan,

You guys have been quiet as of late; still waiting on the updated flight dynamics from Rob Young before releasing the updated 2004 sabre?

I hope all of your work with MAAMsim is going well, and that you are having fun with your new gaming machine.

We continue to enjoy the F-86 in FSX very much; we never get tired of it. We look forward to the day that you run the model through the FSX SDK to compile a native FSX model.

    Wishing you the very best,

    Chris Eells

Hey Jan, what ever happened to the N3-N? I have been patiently waiting for it. It was good rugged ship, better than the Stearman.
