Thanks for the feedback, gents. The one positive thing about it is that for me it feels good that i got it off my chest. Started to feel like a burden really... The saddest thing is that i can only contact Hansi via email. No telephone number or anything like that and, for all i know, he doesn't visit forums. It's the first time something like this happens in my 10 years of working together with Hansi. You can image how sad i feel about it... If only i knew he's allright... I'm afraid, apart from RPM and MAP, *all* of them, Bjoern... And it's not just the coding, Hansi always wants to draw the gauges' faceplates himself. He's very very good at that too ! They would've been all in 3D, with reflective glass covers. Not giving up hope yet !

I think the time has come to tell you the reason of the long silence on any news about the development of the VVC. Up front, it's pretty bad news so fasten your seatbelts... I have been holding off to tell you about it because of the chance it wouldn't be needed to tell you about it.... May sound funny but if you read on you'll understand it makes sense. The situation is that i haven't heard from Hansi anymore since the end of March.... In his last email he added final versions of the MAP and RPM gauges and some coding. He promised that his next work would come much faster but i did not recieve anything from him anymore since then... He also did not respond to the emails i sent him asking about what the reason could be of his silence. Hansi has been going thru a rough time last...

Yes, very simple... F.i. Ctrl-Z = AP On + Alt On, Ctrl-H = Heading On (select your own key combo to change Heading). Click again = Off. Click Z only turns AP off. Check AP Settings/Controls Menu for more options. As it happens i'm trying to get the grips on FSX video creation. So i've put the FCS Lanc in front of my amateur camera. Nothing fancy, just a good look at the external and VC. If all went well you can view the video in 1080HD full screen. ( done with Bandicam demo and Windows Movie Maker) Turn up the volume ! Not sure of a better place to sit than in between four roaring Merlins. I think it will take a looong time, if ever, for a better native FSX Lancaster to be released. IMHO Dano (Daniel Dunn, FCS ) did a very nice job on this one. Love it ! :encouragement: ...

    1. I'm not "demanding" anything from MV. 2. What I am doing is make a case for why a broader model set makes business sense. That recommended broader model set includes models (C,D, RF) which largely are of no personal interest to me - yet will contribute to MV proportionately more than the modeling effort it will take (see point 4). So MV stands to gain, not me. 3. Myself and others have already both proposed and expressed satisfaction with the idea of "other models" apart from the E sharing VCs - we're already in agreement on that. If there happens to be a naval-specific VC - bonus - and kudos to MV. 4. If apparently MV considers said exterior models "a non-issue" - which I take to mean, "reasonably easy to model compared to the complexity of doing each model's...

Hooray - the 50 series - my favourite '8 ever. A good day indeed, as I know there are fans of the CFM -70. I think the latter's hideous, but, hey - to each their own, and kudos to JF for rounding out the family so nicely. The '8 is a pretty varied set of aircraft subtypes, so good on them for covering the majority of the versions. Just because I'll only fly the one I like doesn't diminish my respect for them doing them all, because I'm sure others will really dig those others, and therein lies the beauty of this sim - variety. Will pick up when I'm back in town .... dl

Viva Espana! Nice shots showing off your lovely Juan Carlos. A fitting replacement to the Principe de Asturias. I had an uncle-by-marriage who helped build the Principe in Asturias in the early 80s - wish I still had those photos. Your commitment to naval vessels, esp those of Spain, is much appreciated. dl

Relieved there is a naval big-nosed Phantom in the mix. That said, I'd say indexing expected unit sales based solely upon how widely exported the real world model is simplistic and nave. The following that American naval aircraft have in flight sims, for who knows what reason, a following far out of proportion to national boundaries. May sound a bit ethno-centric, and I'm a fiercely patriotic ex-Canadian Forces man - so this is not merely some Yankee waving the stars and stripes (no disrespect to my US friends). It's a fact that post-war naval aviation is a very interesting sim experience, and the US's naval air arm was clearly the major global player during this period, and that's where a good percentage of the naval air interest lies, and with it, the repaint interest. The...

What about the naval J model? At least one big-nose Phantom, please. Even if it's got the same E VC. Dollars to doughnuts - if MV only do the E, you'll have 1/5 of the all the potential sales. Take a look at all the paint previews - do the math. I totally get the E is an important domestic and export model. But MV will score big-time if they include a J. With a J, you have a good number of the naval Phantoms, and in light of the D being canned, could likely generate repaint interest for fictional C/D paints, for want of a similar model. Why does it matter that Jamal is working on a B? There's enough room in this hobby for well modeled Phantoms of differing types from different development houses. How many friggin' same-model B737, C172, Airbus and Mustang payware...

    Hey Jan,

You guys have been quiet as of late; still waiting on the updated flight dynamics from Rob Young before releasing the updated 2004 sabre?

I hope all of your work with MAAMsim is going well, and that you are having fun with your new gaming machine.

We continue to enjoy the F-86 in FSX very much; we never get tired of it. We look forward to the day that you run the model through the FSX SDK to compile a native FSX model.

    Wishing you the very best,

    Chris Eells

Hey Jan, what ever happened to the N3-N? I have been patiently waiting for it. It was good rugged ship, better than the Stearman.
