it's ok, almost everyone makes this mistake! :untroubled: The models previewed show the wrong maple leaf in the roundels. Those are the modern, post-1968 era roundels, whereas the old (not the recently reverted) RCN/RCAF roundel of the 50s and 60s was this .... ... as done on N97AW shown here:

That is such good news, Steve!!! Your AS/V F-4 paints get regular use, and so will anything you do with this Scooter! Any USMC paints in the hopper? Sorry for the 'jack. Great news on the FDE - looking forward to it, Mal, ex, et al!! :ernaehrung004: dl

Obviously, continuous improvement where possible is good - but Dino, I had a good 45 min hop aboard v1 and had some great fun. Love the model, and Russ's and Antonio's paints are smashing. I had what appeared to be some coding conflict on the lights - I couldn't turn on the beacons without also turning on the interior panel lights. Turning off the interiors also turned off the beacon/nav lights. Maybe it's just me. Thanks to all who have worked on this - not usually a fan of late 80s/90s period aircraft, but this one is stunning exception in my hangar. cheers, dl

Perhaps a repeat request whilst on the topic of static options ... ... a "clear" deck (deck handling equipment, the peeps, but no a/c) option would be nice - so that 1) folks with low-end PCs can still enjoy the boat 2) enables a scenario similar to a CARQUAL, where there would typically be very few a/c on deck, and 3) enables folks to simulate a slight older or newer period than that of whatever refit age you model it in (I think you said 70s). No one will complain that you picked that era, but with the paucity of post-war US non-nuclear carriers out there, this model would be great for simulating naval ops from as early as Cuban Missile to Gulf War. Just a thought. Looks great though - will eagerly eat up whatever gets released ... dl

September 12th, 2014, 11:19 Looks awesome Jafo! Will try tonight. Am assuming I'm hooped, though, if I don't have a widescreen monitor, eh? Any way of making work on a "normal" monitor? :wiggle: cheers - great work! dl

Yes it was, but by now, it's also been quite successfully ported into FSX ... It is this ported model for which Jafo is updating the 2D and VC panels. dl

Great suggestions, Jeff - NSAWC-25 / BuNo 163708 (2nd scheme on 1st link) is just gorgeous! Hoping a USMC variant surfaces for the great FSXBA model - a couple of suggestions ... a couple Aggressors ... and a slightly more subtle variation ... ...

Thanks for the feedback, gents. The one positive thing about it is that for me it feels good that i got it off my chest. Started to feel like a burden really... The saddest thing is that i can only contact Hansi via email. No telephone number or anything like that and, for all i know, he doesn't visit forums. It's the first time something like this happens in my 10 years of working together with Hansi. You can image how sad i feel about it... If only i knew he's allright... I'm afraid, apart from RPM and MAP, *all* of them, Bjoern... And it's not just the coding, Hansi always wants to draw the gauges' faceplates himself. He's very very good at that too ! They would've been all in 3D, with reflective glass covers. Not giving up hope yet !

I think the time has come to tell you the reason of the long silence on any news about the development of the VVC. Up front, it's pretty bad news so fasten your seatbelts... I have been holding off to tell you about it because of the chance it wouldn't be needed to tell you about it.... May sound funny but if you read on you'll understand it makes sense. The situation is that i haven't heard from Hansi anymore since the end of March.... In his last email he added final versions of the MAP and RPM gauges and some coding. He promised that his next work would come much faster but i did not recieve anything from him anymore since then... He also did not respond to the emails i sent him asking about what the reason could be of his silence. Hansi has been going thru a rough time last...

Yes, very simple... F.i. Ctrl-Z = AP On + Alt On, Ctrl-H = Heading On (select your own key combo to change Heading). Click again = Off. Click Z only turns AP off. Check AP Settings/Controls Menu for more options. As it happens i'm trying to get the grips on FSX video creation. So i've put the FCS Lanc in front of my amateur camera. Nothing fancy, just a good look at the external and VC. If all went well you can view the video in 1080HD full screen. ( done with Bandicam demo and Windows Movie Maker) Turn up the volume ! Not sure of a better place to sit than in between four roaring Merlins. I think it will take a looong time, if ever, for a better native FSX Lancaster to be released. IMHO Dano (Daniel Dunn, FCS ) did a very nice job on this one. Love it ! :encouragement: ...

    Hey Jan,

You guys have been quiet as of late; still waiting on the updated flight dynamics from Rob Young before releasing the updated 2004 sabre?

I hope all of your work with MAAMsim is going well, and that you are having fun with your new gaming machine.

We continue to enjoy the F-86 in FSX very much; we never get tired of it. We look forward to the day that you run the model through the FSX SDK to compile a native FSX model.

    Wishing you the very best,

    Chris Eells

Hey Jan, what ever happened to the N3-N? I have been patiently waiting for it. It was good rugged ship, better than the Stearman.
