Odd topic - I'll explain ... Recently, I've noticed that beacon and strobe lights, specifically those baked in/modeled to the model (as opposed to a simple .fx) cast shadows. Hard to capture in a screenshot, but if the light is say, a rectangular tip light on a wingtip (eg: Razbam A-7) that flashes, it'll cast a quick rectangular shadow upon the wing, in time with the timing of the flash. This is also the case with the Razbam Harriers, Ant's T-28, and Virtavia's A-4, though I've seen it on most of the higher-end, newer FSX native models. It's a visual anomaly that I could simply ignore when looking at the spot view, but often this shadow gets cast into the VC whilst flying, and that's really annoying. Ironically, it doesn't happen when lights are done the old fashioned "stuck on"...

Nope, no sound cones in the Skysong DC-6 soundset, Ted. Atleast not that i can hear... In my ears it still is the best set for a DC-6 but certainly not perfect. ( that means not anything like your magnificent set for the DC-3.... :encouragement: ) It's mainly the volume at the transition from start-up to idle and from idle to more rpm. The start-up wav itself is great. @ Grey Eagle: yes i tried the v2 version too but v1 didn't produce what i am looking for in the first place. Internal there's no 'body' when you wall the throttles, sounds a bit like a squadron of prop fighters up in the air rather than sitting in between 4 P&W's. I do have my sub woofer turned up pretty much. My thee cup is suppose to start trembling on its saucer when i open up the throttles, that's what happens...

I get: 'A fatal error occurred', with all three planes! I'm curious if other people get these planes working in FS. :dizzy: Cees 412]Category: Flight Simulator X - Original Aircraft

Thanks, Ted. I tried a few from flightsim and avsim and this one also. Certainly not bad but not as good as the one i used to have for DC-6 last year. That's the problem, i can't find it anymore. Can't remember the dev name but it wasn't Des Braban. Wasn't specifically for the DC-6, just a generic 4 engine prop sound but it was very good. Just bought a DC-6 soundset from Skysong which is quite wonderful, best so far IMHO. I was actually thinking about you, Ted.... :teapot:

Looks good. I'm missing the groundpoly. Instead I see Farmland as it is now. I can live with that. But good to see I got the placing okay! And now I want a quick spin with the Fokker before I go to rehearsal. :wiggle: Cees Edit: Looks great, flies great. A work of art I dreamed about having in FS. Superb Daan!

Still some details to do, but I'm getting there. ADE 1.6 is a magnificent and powerful tool which makes scenerydesign easy. Cees

I started with ADE 1.6 today. Man did I learn a lot today! First I converted some api's I still had to mdl's (ModelconverterX). The mdl's were thereafter converted to a library (LibraryCreatorXML). I placed the buildings in ADE, after I changed the Bmp's to DDS textures (DXTBmp). I learned to place poly's, lines and excludes in ADE 1.6. This is the result: :wavey: Cees I'm pretty confident I can redo Bergen within a reasonable amount of time.....(not to mention De Kooy etc. etc..........)

The nose on the C and E are markedly different, the C had a windscreen wiper, the E did not, 3 pylons on the C, 5 on the E, etc. And of course, the national markings, which brings me to my comment - I learned for the first time, that the VA-12 and others' Es were painted like a C ... I never knew that! Visually, it makes that space kinda busy, and see why they were moved aft. But hey, to each their own, and as it turns out, was historically accurate - so I think we'll see a few Es with fwd-painted national insignia. Thanks Steve and Frank! oh, and yes - nice livery ... goes without saying .... :ernaehrung004: dl

    Hey Jan,

You guys have been quiet as of late; still waiting on the updated flight dynamics from Rob Young before releasing the updated 2004 sabre?

I hope all of your work with MAAMsim is going well, and that you are having fun with your new gaming machine.

We continue to enjoy the F-86 in FSX very much; we never get tired of it. We look forward to the day that you run the model through the FSX SDK to compile a native FSX model.

    Wishing you the very best,

    Chris Eells

Hey Jan, what ever happened to the N3-N? I have been patiently waiting for it. It was good rugged ship, better than the Stearman.
