You're welcome. The airframe in the photos (06940) now rests in the Museum of Flight in Seattle. I have photographed that unit extensively since it's just a couple of hours from where I live, across the border (though these are not my photos, just some off the 'net). It truly is magnificent. There was some discussion when the Milviz model was first previewed about some folks hoping for the other Project Oxcart models (A-12, M-21, YF-12). A desperately long shot, I'd say - but I'd settle for the still-handsome Virtavia FSX model repainted as this M-21 in a heartbeat ...

Ok, yes, i see, Mark. They stand out pretty much when flying at treetop from spot view. If you know about them, which i didn't... :) Been doing some more treetop flying all over the place and keep being very impressed. Does seem to me that, overall, trees do seem to be smaller than before. I was wondering what would happen if i checked the FTX Central 'Use Orbx Trees' box... The NTE X trees are replaced instantly by Orbx trees. They are very different, some are pretty nice too, particularly deciduous trees. If you ask me they are bigger/taller then the NTE X trees at average. Thanks for the tip about these horizontal planes. :)

But isn't it like trees models are setup as rectangular poly's ? The texture that is applied to these poly's holds an image of a tree with the surrounding area made transparent by pure black, right ? ( that's why spinning props and canopies of FS9 port-over aircraft models dissapear not only behind clouds but also behind trees while on the ground). So that would make it possible to decide about the height of a tree by the texture only, wouldn't it. While the tree models (i.e. the poly's) stay the same the height and width of the tree can be adjusted by just the texture. A tree cannot be made taller than the height of the trees' poly's of course but it can be made shorter... Mind you, i never endeavoured trees design but i believe that's how it works. Correct me if i'm wrong. :teapot:

Certainly in the close-up shot of the Beaver over Orsa village there's not *one* tree to see that is too big or too tall. Perfectly true to life IMHO. Trees used for woods and forests are a lot bigger/taller indeed but that's true in real life as well, isn't. I'm afraid that if Zinertek replied to the comments about the trees being too big by making them smaller they'd get comments about the trees being too small in no time... :teapot: I'm keeping 'em ! :encouragement:

I know Zsolt, I lost the texture in a computercrash a few years ago. I'll redo it, promised! It's a ship from the Brinio class, which operated on the IJsselmeer at that time. Have you spotted the lighthouse? Cees

We're adding a next chapter to this book. Vlissingen-Souburg. Again, this is a beta. You'll need the CalClassic libraries to let the vehicles show up. Not the tram, I made that one myself. I'll put De Kooy up again here in a newer version. You'll need De Kooy for a few buildings of Vlissingen. The seperate file for De Kooy with 'alt' should go in scenery/world/scenery, not doing so will result in height differences on the airfield. Cees

I am just trying Natural Tree Environment X. Quite like it. Impressed with jungle area's particularly. Here's a collection of Skandinavion screens with this new trees and foliage set installed. Few close-ups together with houses for comparison. This with all sliders at max. There's an option to use either medium or high res textures. This is medium. FTX Global active. Finland, approaching Joensuu : Taxi :

Thanks, guys! Bought it, installed it, love it! :encouragement: ( with respect to the fact that a dedicated FSimmer has always something to whine about, IMHO some of the trunks could've been a bit less bright.. )

Darrell, Hang in there mate. No words I utter on this page can give the comfort you need, but I hope in some way the reactions here on the OH give you some kind of support. I'm not a religious man myself, but I always try to look ahead and imagine what the person I lost would want me to do. There is a time to mourn for such a terrible loss, but eventually you must accept it and go on. I think your late wife would have wanted you to do just that. My sincerest condolences, Cees

Thanks , Ian. I have GZ-VLC for quite some time already but did not install it on my new rig in favor of FTX NZ. Only SI sofar. I have FTX Global too. Going to subscribe NZ photoscenery for north island. So best not install VLC anymore then, éh ? Will FTX Global suffice to use with north island photoscenery or do i need FTX NZ/NI as well ? You are very lucky to live in such an amazing beautiful country, matey. I do a lot of Dakota gauges testing overthere currently. :encouragement:

    Hey Jan,

You guys have been quiet as of late; still waiting on the updated flight dynamics from Rob Young before releasing the updated 2004 sabre?

I hope all of your work with MAAMsim is going well, and that you are having fun with your new gaming machine.

We continue to enjoy the F-86 in FSX very much; we never get tired of it. We look forward to the day that you run the model through the FSX SDK to compile a native FSX model.

    Wishing you the very best,

    Chris Eells

Hey Jan, what ever happened to the N3-N? I have been patiently waiting for it. It was good rugged ship, better than the Stearman.
