TheBookie, That would be interesting to look at. You can always learn a thing or two from the masters. :very_drunk:

TheBookie, I know how to do that as well, I included multiple cloud decks as high as 30k for the 20th Fighter Group campaign. I was sent some missions by Kdriver, and figure if we can throw this package together, it could be another homage to Talon, just as the Port Darwin pack will be.

TheBookie, I will send you an email or PM later today. Kdriver sent me some missions that may work very well with this. I also know the composition of Kakuta's / Hosogaya's force.

Morning! I got the Catalina working as an AI crate with UncleTgt's files, although hopefully Peperez can work his magic at some point in the future. It won't be long now...UncleTgt is putting a little more spit-and-polish on the Catalina textures, though I have the beta version. Kdriver is building a little scenery right now so that I can build one last mission for this package, but otherwise it's ready to go. I ran the auto-installer program and wrote the readme files already to speed the project along a little further. All I'll have to do is tweak the auto-installer once the last parts are in place. Hang tight for a few more days, we're just about there! :biggrin-new:

Hey guys. I'll have to try those packages one at a time. I end up with a PBY which slowly falls to the ocean as an AI flight and then blows up on it's own. :dizzy:

Hello again, Hey - Between UncleTgt's Catalina files and Oglivie's, I was able to graft together a working airfile with the flight characteristics Oglivie described in his post. I also found a couple of errors in the panel.cfg for the Catalina and fixed them, which I will include in the package for you. I have attached it in the meantime. UncleTgt worked on the .dp file and includes weapons loadouts and fixed the combat boxes.

Good afternoon, Hey guys, Just completed modifying the four Japanese carrier strike missions that were part of the first wave so that they attack from the correct direction, as well as have a correct takeoff point where the Japanese carriers were when they launched. RobH did a FDG P-40 skin at my request in the colors of Lt. Ostreicher for the missions, and UncleTgt, as you can see took care of the PBY and the KM P-40e, so no matter which version you choose, there is an authentic skin. Both these, as well as John's Catalina skin, will be included. I was going to stop at ten, but Kdriver is building the airstrip and rescue mission on Bathurst Island, as well as the East End moorings for the PBY Catalinas that were destroyed. So, it looks like I have one, possibly two missions...

Hi, When trying to approve your skin after changing the upload to a .zip file format, I deleted it instead of approved it, and do not have another copy of it. Could you please upload it, with the picture, one more time? Also, please do not use hyperlinks connecting to a location off-site. Please upload it directly to SOH. Sorry for the inconvenience, I've been entered as a finalist for Trojan's "boner of the week" award. :banghead: Thanks,

From what I can tell the conflict may be related to my ORBX scenery. I loaded the plane at a Texas airport and the nav lights were clearly visible. I then relocated the plane to another airport within my ORBX PNW scenery, and the nav lights did not show. I'm not seeing any problems with other a/c (incl. MV) with similar nav lights, so its only with the MV P-38L. I don't recall this problem before the recent SP, but then again I don't do that much night flying. I guess its all based on what night effects are in place. I posted my comments on the MV forum and they are looking into it. In the meantime I have added a nav lights for the wings from their P-38RB.

Hmm.. Didn't want to do this but I just did a complete reinstall with no change. The last install was Milviz_P38_L_FSX_vA1.150610.exe. First I copy the entire aircraft folder to another location to preserve the addon textures and aircraft.cfg settings. Then "Run as Administrator" to remove current install, and run again to reinstall. Then copy back the addon textures and make sure their entries are in the aircraft.cfg. Load up FSX, set time to Night, load up the aircraft and ........ There was some mention in their forums about one user having to install (or reinstall) one of the MS Visual C++ 2010, but I wasn't sure if that was necessary or not. I have versions for x64 and x86 which were updated 5/13/2015.

Ah, yes. The lights work fine on the other aircraft and the two custom effect files are still in the folder. To get some nav lights, I copied over the entries from the MV P-38 Red Bull. No tail light, but the wing nav lights will do. My memory's not to good. I know they worked before, but am not sure if it was with the original release only or if I ever tested it with the last SP.

The MV P-38L is one of my favorites. Last night, however, I noticed that the Nav lights were no longer working. Cockpit and landing lights are fine. Although I reported this on their support forum, I thought I'd post this issue here as well as several others have encountered the same issue. I'm baffled as to why the Nav lights worked at one time, but not now. The lights are built into the model so there are no related effect files, and as far as I can tell nothing has changed on my install to affect this - all the other related files are where they should be. Inasmuch as having the lights modeled into the aircraft is a nice feature, it makes it difficult (for me) to trying and figure out what is happening. Without known light coordinates I can't add or replace any effect files...

John, I'm not sure, can't imagine why you're getting the error. I'll examine the mission when I get home??

Hey guys, I am almost ready to release the Port Darwin mission package. As I wait for the P-40 skin, (RobH is doing it) I was wondering if someone could help with the following items... 1) A .dp edit of Shessi's new PBY-2 Catalina to correct the damage boxes and decrease the number of hits for the fuel tanks, as well as reduce the accuracy of the AI gunners. 2) An airfile edit of the PBY-2 Catalina to prevent her from dogfighting like a Fokker Dr. I triplane. She should be more lumbering and sedate. UncleTgt - Are you working on any of this? Have you contacted Peperez directly, or should I, and see if he is willing to help?

John, That is a stock object, it should already be in your installation.
