    Only FSX Deluxe or Gold have the SDK bundled with them, so you can build and paint your model but won't be able to export it to FSX without it...

    How much spare time do you have? You're going to need plenty plus a fair bit of patience! Do you have FSX Deluxe or FSX Gold Edition? The software development kit (SDK) is supplied with these and includes the plugin for Gmax to export models to FSX. Gmax is a free download and is wonderfully capable, but takes a lot of learning - as does the whole modelling process. FSDS from Abacus Software is an alternative for not too much money but don't spend anything more than that: there is another modelling tool used by some (including me) known as 3ds Max and it is appallingly expensive. Blender is another free alternative which is becoming used for FSX by a few since the tools were developed recently. For everything else, unless you already have some expensive software, stay cheap....

    Sounds like a problem with the model's pylons: if the nodes are missing from the pylons the weapon never shows until it's released or fired. I remember Jaycee having some fun with this. For the textures I dunno... edit: the nodes are called mount0, mount1 etc

    Those are some beautiful screen shots Master Wiekniera!! Very grateful for the Masters who have made all of this possible. Master Ankor and Master Gecko, and the ETO team for the work I am using. Many Masters have worked very hard to improve our beloved Combat flight simulator 3 and expansions of late. onward and upward. :applause: :applause: :applause:

    Researching for Historical missions for this beautiful Bird. Have several commitments to complete for the ETO team, then I will get all of this out. Been rather busy with Real life issues but expect to complete many commitments to my Brothers on the ETO team soon. then off and running on some Historical Missions for this beautiful bird.     This is certainly possible with CFS3 f'rinstance, but how and to what texture an FSX pilot figure is mapped is the decision of the modeller(s). A simple utility which could identify this just doesn't exist, nor is it likely. JF could do it with their own models because they (should) know where and how and would have a standardised mapping for a pilot figure.

    An interesting interview, giving an insight into what appeals to the team. They also have to consider what will sell and if that means catering to the AVSim crowd instead of us then that's a business decision. This site is still SOH Combat Flight Center, the members generally still like warbirds and military aircraft and that's what still appeals to me, but I note not all these models sell well a certain Stuka didn't. Sometimes hard choices have to be made. :banghead:
