Those are some excellent drawings Andy. I would very much like to have them for my collection. No rush, just when you have some spare time. I can translate the Polish. Thanks for digging them up.

Thanks Sundog, there are some nice links there that I haven't seen and a few decent cockpit pictures which are so hard to come by. I did look at Molyneaux's model last night, even took it for a spin. I don't like to let another's work influence my work and would rather have the knowledge needed to make an accurate model from the original publications and photography on the aircraft. I spent hours going over documentation and even more hours just modeling the undercarriage and animating it, I'm a stickler for accurate gear animation. I want the cockpit area to be just as accurate. I'm really concerned with the flight dynamics because I have no idea where to start on this aircraft. The data I need to accomplish this is hidden in some archive in the UK and I want to find it. I have been...

Oh Dave, if you can remember where the site is and they have a 360 of the Defiant that would be outstanding! BTW, I've always considered you not only an FS enthusiast but also an upstanding guy.

I'm aware of the model but I'm not studying it. What I have been studying are the Air Ministries' original publications on the Mk.I and Mk.II and Mark Ansell's book on the aircraft. Thank you for the offer. If it has some good cockpit photos I would be interested in seeing them.

Thanks DL, I will check with them. I have contacted the RAF Museum and while they did respond they could only give me further links to try. I'm going to keep digging with the hope of eventually striking gold. I did receive some very nice external photos from hairyspin of the main gear that he had taken at the museum. I have seriously been thinking about having it TacPack-ed and having it where it can be a multiplayer shared cockpit and turret gunner. That will be farther down the line after the main model is completed.

As much as I appreciate all that you are doing for this forum I'm restricting early access to those who submit contributions (data not money) to the development of this aircraft. Not to worry as it will be as all my models are free to all. Thanks to Clive aka Pat Pattle who sent me some documentation on the CFS3 version I have a lot more information on the aircraft. Yes Clive is on my list. Thanks Dave, I am appreciative of your support, Anything you can dig up, please. I have the feeling that there must be some people on this forum that may have access to information that would be of great help in the production of this model. As most of you know I build models as a hobbyist with a passion for aircraft of the era and that the end results will be freeware with the caveat that it...

Hello all, I'm posting a few screen shots of my current project. I'malmost done with the exterior model construction. I'm currently mapping andtexturing as I go as you can see by the incomplete textures. I have a millionmore rivets to draw (heavy sigh). Testing is being done in FSX and P3D 2.x andsoon P3D 3.x. I have been searching and purchasing data for the aircraftbut it is scarce. If anyone has information and is willing to share it with meI would very much appreciate it by adding you to my small list of beta testers when the time comes. I'mprimarily looking for cockpit detail and flight characteristic data. I hope you like it. Paul

I thought swingman's duck was FSX native? Mine did have the DX10 problem because of an incorrect setting in the Max material settings for FSX. The DX10 fixer solved the problem for those who encountered it. It never did show up on my system that's why I didn't catch it.

Didn't he get a "Tail-wind" nickname in the RAF as a result?

And the government insisted the company with least experience of supersonic aircraft should be in charge of the rest! :dizzy: :dizzy: :mixed-smiley-027: A magnificent aircraft if you've seen the real thing (RAF Museum Cosford has one) and an FSX version would be very appealing.

I don't think Central auto-updates without option, so don't let it. Or turn the auto bit off before it completes any update download.

Old joke: He looks mighty tall in the saddle. That's because he's on a horse, mate! If you get the chance to watch Peter Teichman display any of his aircraft, take it. He's a fine pilot.
