I know there are several guitarists frequenting SOH, you need to see this, a new gizmo for tuning from Gibson. Pretty spiffy, At first I thought it was one of those fake things, but seems pretty genuine to me. Not sure if it would work on other brands of guitar, though I can't see why not http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Min-ETune.aspx.

Here is an excellent vid I came across about how to efficiently set up W7 (especially 64) with many great tweaks explained in eazy-to-follow fashion It's quite long (1hr 20) so after initial setup and install the real tweaks start at about the 34min mark. He also references this excellent guide http://www.overclock.net/t/1156654/seans-windows-7-install-optimization-guide-for-ssds-hdds and takes you through it. Also spends some time optimising SSD's.

Speechless. All I can say is there must be a paper trail with the order written down and some pen-pusher has to be brought to account.

This appears to be it http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/motherboards/desktop-motherboards/desktop-boards-software-extreme-tuning-utility.html I would urge caution and a lot of reading up before anyone dives in. A good place to start "Toms" is respectable. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/z77-express-ivy-bridge-benchmark,3254-24.html

I find it's "new money" that have the snob attitude. Those born with it (generally) tend to be fairly regular folks.

I like that one too, and given the fact he is upgrading the Fairchild, there is maybe hope.

I'll go with CG's argument, because I cannot imagine anything untoward being afoot here and besides, the Russians are our friends now. There should be a sarcasm gif to attach here! :kilroy:

It does no more than what Kostas and Jesus websites do in reality. There are no magical solutions. There have been numerous reviews by reputable sites in the past to this sort of thing. They just relieve the simmer of the onerous task of doing the research themselves, but for free.

I agree thanks for the balance, almost teared up with some of them. How refreshing it is to see people helping others in need and going out of their way to do so. It has almost become a no-no to do so with possible threats of litigation for trying to be the good guy. Can you imagine if someone was rear ended because a guy two cars ahead had stop in the left lane to help a pedestrian across the road? Oh the lawyers would lining up for that one. I come away from watching the news these days and feel angry and frustrated. It's all death destruction and corruption. There was a time when the news always ended on an upbeat note, not so much now though. I now no longer make a point of trying to catch the 6pm news like I used to. You know my wife's firm rents out spare office space to a therapy support company. She was talking to one of their counsellors just today and he is swamped with work, he's been doing it for 20 odd years and has never had so many angry and depressed patients under his care. I will leave it to you dear readers to come to your own conclusions as to why this might be so. But have YOU noticed how folks are strung out so tight these days.

You know, I wonder if it's all a bit of hooey. I rebuilt my FSX.cfg last week as I was getting OOM errors after pfaffing about with OCing. Anyway that is an aside, I went back to unclocked. I reset my bios to default which of course included hyperthreading my quad core I7 2600K CPU. I sent the cfg off to Jesus's website for it's twiddly twiddly thing and put the new one back into FSX. The following day I went back and switched off the HT in bios. I went back to flying FSX and it was only when I saw this thread did I realise I had not altered the cfg to reflect the lack of HT..... So this meant I was using a setting of AffinityMask=84 when it should have read AffinityMask=14. But you know there was no discernible difference in the quality or rate at which the sim ran. I have followed convention and just in case set AffinityMask=14. I rest my case M'Lud. Hooey. :jump:

The golden age for us fsimmers, seems there was a program released every few months around then. Not so much any more. I guess we require much more sophistication nowadays. EF2000 was great. Then came Falcon4, which is still great (with the fixes) and probably the most in depth mil sim to date on PC.

Is it possible to change the name of this thread? I looked for the first time today and it is about anything but the Storch panel. I never looked before because I don't have a Storch, it is doing a disservice imho to all the hard work going on in other panel respects.

Isn't it hilarious what we call a small d/l these days. 14Mb - my first HD was 40Mb. :icon_lol: Oh yes I just use IE10 own downloader - I like to direct my d/l's manually to their rightful place on an external MyBook HD (2TBs) - more hilarity totting up my total HD space - Just shy of 7Tb's. :icon_lol::icon_eek::isadizzy:
