Looks great John. I watched that movie already earlier this day. I recognised the formation and knew your screenshots must have been based on this movie. The painting my father did was based on a picture he had in a book. My father could paint really beautiful skies. Cheers, Huub

Joan was the aircraft flown by Lt Russel Fredendall of the 507th FS/ 404th FG. He was hit by Flak on the 25th of June 1944, near Foret de Cinglais while flying at 200ft. His aircraft crashed and exploded and Lt Fredenhall was killed.

My view is that in the early films the SW Universe was still mostly at peace, so to go from that state to it falling into darkness, some comic relief etc. had to be introduced. If you look at the second trilogy it's great how the look transforms as events take place.

Yep..... It was one of the first add-ons I bought, and I had every Dutch F-16 paint I could find installed. Had about 130 entries I believe! :icon_lol: Now if I compare it to the Aerosoft FsX F-16 or even Olsson's F-16 it does look outdated. Still had a lot of fun with it in Fs9 though!

It has been above my bed for many years and suddenly I wonder what happened with it as I left it with my parents when I left home and both my parents aren't there anymore to tell me. Cheers, Huub

Yes, I had stopped the carrier to save the flight with an aircraft on deck and forgot to get it moving again. The extra 20 knots would have made it a bit easier.

I've tried this years ago in Fs8, lets see if I can recreate it in FsX...: Didn't land it there, I don't think that would work, so I flew a helicopter in and switched to the C-17. 20% fuel load, no cargo and only the two pilots on board. Wing clearance might be a problem:

FOUND IT ! THANK YOU kikas for suggesting a look at the modules folder!!! :salute: :salute: :salute: It was a dll file, "bglman.dll", loaded by some FS DreamTeam scenery before I could stop it! I was an automatic installer that did not allow manual install and I cancelled it a soon as it began to load, but obviously too late. I found the answer on the FSDT furums.

Thanks for the tip SSI01. I had not read that. :salute: I installed 4 MAIW sceneries AFTER I installed and flew the C-17 and I have since uninstalled those 4. I have about 16 other MAIW sceneries I have been flying for some time without any problems until yesterday. I'm about to uninstall the C-17 and see what happens. I really dread rebuilding this FS9 install. Edit: Uninstalling the C-17 didn't help.

That's an impressive list Mike! I've bought a few helicopters over the years; from Alphasim/Virtavia I have the AH-64D, Merlin, Seasprite, Pave low, Sea King and now the CH-53. I prefer these heavier types over the light helicopters. Much stabler and easier to fly. The Nemeth/Milviz Skycrane/Tarhe is another one I really like.

It was bound to happen sooner or later! Been on the same install since 2007, but now.....:( I apologize for having to ask because I've seen the previous posts discussing it but I am unable to locate any of them. I've done all I know to do. Here's the situation. Loaded up the Virt C-17 and took it for a test hop. Wow! Gotta learn to fly all over again! Anyway, then began installing more MAIW places and planes and a couple fo Hawaii sceneries. Went to open FS9 to do the scenery library installs and got the MS screen of death! Interestingly enough, before the BS of death flagged I got the banners telling that FS was building new scenery files. Once those were executed, a few more seconds of grinding then the bad news. Since I manually install all my addons I was able to remove all the files I and just installed but no joy!

I really wasn't planning on buying anything after I bought the C-17 last week, but I overlooked the CH-53 and decided that for less than $9 I needed to add this to the hangar, especially since its brother, the MH-53 Pave Low, is one of my favourite helicopters. The Sea Stallion flies just as good, has a nice cockpit and a real nice 'heavy' soundset. At avsim.com I found a repaint pack by Pierre Lheureux which was made for Fs9 but works in FsX too if you add a texture.cfg to each tecture folder.

I'm really looking forward to you work John. It is a real coincidence as I was actually looking for a paintkit for this model. And Google brought me to this thread! :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol: The Dutch "Early bird foundation" has two Dr-1 replica's one built by the foundation (PH-DRI) powered with a Siemens radial engine and one replica built in the US powered by a 165 HP Warner radial engine (PH-EBF). http://www.vroegevogels.org/en/fokker-dr1 The green/red one is currently on display in the Aviodrome museum. Chris "Eagleskinner" Brisland did a repaint depicting the blue one. I was intending to do one of Manfred van Richthofen's aircraft, most likely one which isn't completely red. I assume it will be included in your release. If not, I would love to have a copy of your paint kit.

Hi, this pack is a consolidation and expansion of previous sceneries of that area. Most of the airfields are new, but some are updates or replacements of previous airfields, such as Amsterdam or Munich. You may want to uncheck/remove the corresponding old scenery when installing the new one. It should not affect the rest of the CalClassic scenery, in fact it uses some of the resources, particularly the Static Objects Library. Best regards, Volker

Available now at Flightsim.com and Avsim.com: FS2004 Scenery Central Europe 1961. This scenery package contains twelve airports in Germany, nine in the Netherlands, one in Luxembourg, three in Switzerland, and three in Austria, providing taxiways and details as they were at the beginning of the 1960's. Also includes the harbors of Rotterdam, Hamburg and Den Helder, all the lighthouses along the Dutch coast and some along the German coast, and the island of Helgoland, created from scratch. Although most of the airports of the package are for civil use, it also includes some Dutch military bases with AI and static aircraft. At many of the airports you will find moving crash tenders and at Amsterdam moving airport buses. Made as close as possible using available photos and information. The goal was to reflect something of the atmosphere and feel of that period, prior to the all-jet era of today. By Wolfgang Gersch, Harry Biard, Michael Schneider, Jaap de Baare, Nikko Yaginuma, Tom Gibson, Bernard Leuenberger and Mike Stevens. Cheers, Maarten

When my memory is still correct the history of this aircraft was on the sign in front of the airplane. Bought the FsX version of the C-17 yesterday, and for only 17.48 I'm very happy with it! Exterior textures are a bit bland, but the real thing's a big grey whale too I guess! It flies great, not nearly as sluggish as some freeware airliners around; I've seen it do a display a few years ago and the virtual model seems able to reproduce those maneuvres quite well. VC is one of the best yet from AS/Virtavia and the sounds are great too.

  1. Hello Maarten :-)

Wow! That would be great. I'll send you the address in a PM.

    Thank you very much! :-)

    Milton

    Hi Milton,

    Hope you're well.

I realized to day that I have a very interesting e-book on my hard disk entitled "Stoof Driver - Flying the Grumman S-2 Tracker" by Mike Ray (private publication, 2003). It is about 300 pages "thick" and contains a treasure of photos, colour and b/w, many of great quality. Not only of the "Stoof" (S-2) but also the FUDD (E-1 Tracer). if you are interested I will be more than happy copying it for you and the project.

Just let me know and send me your address so I can send it really quickly to you if you want it.

    Best regards,
    Maarten Brouwer
