    "a legendary bird, whose reputed ever-decreasing circular flightpad had an inevitable conclusion" to me this makes sense, the circular pattern the ideal comparison for a search pattern to locate downed pilots. Jamie

    Do that, Matt - Yeovilton used to be my regular aviation haunt - I love that place. Years ago, your visit was almost certainly rewarded with the Sea Fury, Firefly or Swordfish on a check flight or all three departing for an airshow. The museum was sensational - that's where I fell in love with the big American radial CATS! Big, staunch, beautifully engineered, carrierworthy babies towering over the FA birds. When I was at secondary school in Torquay during the early '70's, we'd get a Camberra flyover every Thursday as regular as clockwork (undersurfaces yellow/black diagonal stripes). A REALLY extra treat would be the appearance of a Sea Vixen - man what a lorry of a crate!

    Andy,
    I have a couple of things that you might want to look at. Your FDEs did make an improvement, that's for sure. I installed in FSX and it worked
    except the HSI is cock-eyed so not working right. It's not the panel or the gauges, I don't think. Must be a missing (or erroneous) section in
    air file (ie: table for piston instead of for jet?). I never dig this far.
    (1). Of course the 2 left brakes is one. I always make the point.1 the left wheel. I have a certain 'order' that I always follow and found that
    doing so gives my tweaking a 'pattern'. That is how I spoted this.
    (2). I changed the MOI's. Mostly to illustrate the 'general' idea as to what makes a 'balanced' MOI set. Not too critical. But you might find this
    sets up something to go on. The relationship is: roll=1x, pitch=2x, and yaw=3x. Here is example using ('fictitious') X=1234.567. They
    'work' so it's not detrimental. This set will allow for doing higher speeds, as higher MOI's (there ARE limits) prevent the 'shakes' at
    speeds close to that 'overspeed'.
    empty_weight_roll_MOI= 1234.567 //o=1297.93
    empty_weight_pitch_MOI= 2469.134 //o=2286.03
    empty_weight_yaw_MOI= 4938.268 //o=2765.83
    empty_weight_coupled_MOI= 0.000
    (3). The nose wheel dug into ground on braking. Changed the values for compression and now it don't do that. But the other positions needed some adjustment (minor) to so here is the whole burrito.

    (4). I notice you made gross wt 3748 Lb, where it could be Max 7750 Lbs, which would allow for more fuel and increased power and range. I
    made these changes to inlet area and static thrust:
    [TurbineEngineData]
    inlet_area= 1.000 //0.34290
    static_thrust= 1160.000 //860.000

    Found out why change from 'Center2' to 'Center1' for fuel tanks did what it did. I did not add relevant section to air file. Rookie mistake. I hardly ever change fuel section in cfg. This is what made it go all bonkers. Must of been tired and not thinking. Live and learn. So that's it. Took my time to PM this as it's 9 pm here (USA) but early morning where you're at. Hope you approve and can use mods. I do 'mind' the details. But NOT specs. Specs are 'nice' to have, but very annoying (like the 'VC only' types and those moron rivet counters) (hehe). Cheers.

    Andy,
    Sorry I did not get back to you sooner. Too busy tweaking. I am glad you could use the file section. I joined here to 'look see' and am getting sucked in (because I can do FDE's). The aircraft are all strange to me as I never did much with warbirds. But I can install and tell you in 3 minutes what needs to be done. Well, almost. There's a lot of time doing trial & error. I am very familiar with Ito's models and have fixed a few for my own use. Now I can contribute by posting cfg and air file. My hope would be that they are all around 'much improved' and serviceable. There is the 'issue' of OS, controller used, etc, so there can be some simmers not 'liking' the FDEs. Even if they don't even calibrate their stick (ha). That's life. You can't have everything. I try hard. And then I go do another one. Just got through doing dynamics for the 'TransBus' (FSX only) by 'TheFireBoys12' (whoever they are) and posted video to YouTube. That's how I spend my day. Will chat with you later.

    Andy,
    I guess I got the 'enbed' shortcut and not the link. My mistake. Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?k0nx1vzr52flr . Man this is getting weird. Delete my other messages (I don't know how). CUL8R.

    Andy,
    Hold everything. I somehow got 'fed' the wrong link by Media Fire. Will go find what happened and be right back with a good link. It is best to copy/paste the link and put it in address bar of browser (up top) instead of going direct from PM page (won't work-gets blocked). OK? OK! I'll be baaaaack.

    Andy,
    Here is the LINK to zip file at Media Fire dot Com (file hosting site): http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?tjc6m6sfbmcv2gk . I include a (short) readme just for kicks. I only include (fltsim.0) section (I only LIKE the CAF version-I love all CAF related paints) so you can edit cfg to suit your needs. You should create a completely different folder for my version. Much easier. Then copy folder for model, panel, sound, plus texture (CAF?). The model I used is: c-27j.mdl, 1,079 kb, 6/28/2004:3:24pm, just for reference. And I used Shane Strong's CAF paint. Looks spiffy. It's fun to change panels, and sound, for 'effect'. Have fun.

    Andy,
    Got your message. Need another day. Found 'details' to finish (lights, etc). Did some changes last night and it's even better now. Will zip up and upload tonight. (Too many 'real' chores right now -weeds, laundry, pay bills, cooking (no use working if you can't eat-hehe), etc, etc). Your title said 'C47J' and shook me up at first. But, it must be a typo. Will PM you the link. Cheers.
