not stupid...keep your prices on the lower side,do "update packages" for free to owners of the "complete original purchase package",and then have a "donate to future project development" button...those of us who understands what that means..may just dontate from time to time to help develop a quality plane at a lower affordable price....

well for a geek like me anyway, http://members.tripod.com/airfields_freeman/CA/Airfields_CA_SacramentoNE.htm this is for the dirt runway that was at the top of the ridge above where i live. Skyridge airport,Auburn,Ca,if you click the link, its the top most set of pics and charts, along with text,Dan Shivley was our local (Sacramento) news pilot hero,he flew KOVR-3 bell 206 for many years until retirement.i have no idea where he is now..but he was a great pilot, and got great shots. in the top chart, where it shows the chatolic sisters school, thats still there, mater of fact they are doing a huge addition to it,putting an accual hotel like building for the sisters to come to have a "retreat"...its open to members of the church as well..but you have to be a devout member...its mostly all elderly nuns there. just up the road with the red dashed lines, that is "sacramento street"..once known as the folsom highway..only a narrow two lane road, twisty and mean, off that red and white dashed street is a small street that goes to the right..or to the east if you are a mappy..that is Carolyn st,at this time, the street crosses sacramento st,and deadends into rancho circle which is where i live.sort of between the BM 1279 and the three little black dots.if you scroll down to the last aireal photo from 2004 taken by Dan,you can see how the river canyon begins to fall off to the east..just out of the frame ,it becomes about a 75% gradient, well if you look at a mechanical drawing triangle, you stand it up,you have a flat bottom,90% on the back,60% on the front..and this would be at about 75% or degrees on one of those triangles if you were to draw a straight line..lol..in the very upper right of the photo.you can see a scar of dirt that appears to just be an embankment..thats accually apart of the raceway for the Auburn Dam they were going to build.when i was a kid,i moved to this nieghborhood in 1969,we would go up to the area just south of where the morman church is now, they had built huge mounds of DG,my dad said that Greely had the runway DG mostly scraped clean ,piled in thses mounds to use later as ditch lining, this ofcourse was before my working days..but my dad and grandfather worked with Greely Harrington for many many years laying sewer and water lines all over placer and nevada counties, its very rocky here and mostly "lavacap" so the pipes have to be "lined" with either DG or sand..they prefer DG because it will compact better than sand.Greely also loaned my dad the money to buy/build his house we live in now, because the banks wouldnt..as it states in the text on the website.."wrong side of the tracks"..no one..even in the 1970s ever thought this area would be a viable developed area....and in a way they are right..cept what homes are out south of me are owned by guys like Scott Pruett ( from chip gannassi racing)scott owns a huge vinyard just about a 1/4 mile south of me,,Col Bud Anderson lives out there...John Travolta had a house there for a...

new ATC tower in Mumbai ,the reason for the post...notice the crane on the roof,i was looking at it and wondering if it was a construction crane since the "conversation area" under the pic says it isnt open as yet,or if its a permanant window washers crane..i think its the latter ,but after staring at the picture for a but.i noticed the cable off the crane and only then did i spot the basket...lol...now how would YOU like to be in that basket working out there??.....me?..no thanks...did my share of heights already.. http://www.airliners.net/photo//2263076/L/&sid=565e74487cf0fb6525fdc8a165fe5daf

cessna 170 crashed sat night very close to the airport..sort of on the property, the city own an island of land in the county the airport sits on about three miles outside of the city limits and the plane came down in a wooded area inside the "island" of city land.its a sad situation in the fact the plane crashed (they think) around 9 pm and wasnt found until midnight..its monday at 2:37pm as i type, and there are fire crews at scene now still working on the plane to retreive the victims..seems it was up in the trees pretty high...they wont use handcrews to help as they are convicts..so regular fire crews are being used. http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2013/05/20/2-dead-in-plane-crash-in-placer-county/

and a confession. i sometimes, when i see a photograph i like, right click and save as.for my private use....yes i have a habit of posting pic links from airliners.net here but i allways give photographer info and airliner.net info.. heres my question..why are the photo posts on SOH now ending with ".jpg~original" ?are the posters doing this? as i thought the first time i saw this extention ,as the poster had taken the pics and posted them himself,i assumed he was protecting himself and i pm'd a resquest for copies. then i saw a post of a pic from WWII from another poster that couldnt possibly be the posters copywrite...he be to young...lol..but that pic has the same ".jpg~original" extention...so im just wondering....this a built in protection from jerks like me? or something yall came up with in a superduper secret soh meeting? BTW i have a 20 inch photo frame thing,,i collect pics from the net ( i know many people dont like that) and i put them on a SD disc or USB flash drive thingy and do slideshows...

my immediate family has allways been on the poor side,we have allways lived on the line so to speak...have nice things,my folks had theyre own home by 1969 ( they married in 57 i think),my dad worked for his dad while in high school and into adulthood,as did i until my injury,my grandfather worked as a plumber for his uncle as a youngman from before WWII and then after in the Lake Tahoe area until he moved his family to auburn in 1948,but grandpa's wifes family were realited to president tyler,my dads grandmothers father was Presidents Tylers cousin..lol.. on my moms side...she and her mother and father and two older brothers lived in cabins, and after WWII they had army tents, complete with army issue heating stoves and kitchen stoves, moms cousins(grandmas brothers and sisters had the money and owned the mines and mills) and they lived in houses on the same property, one of my uncles would tell me stories of how those men would sit on the porch and drink expencive whiskey or scotch, and smoke cigars, while my grandfather simon ,moms dad,who suffered from grandmale epileptic seizures all his life, ran the lumber mill and would walk the donkeys up and down the canyon trail to the mine 4 times aday, this was where the "Auburn Lake Trails" subdivision now sits on state route (SR)193 east from SR-49 at Cool ca,and ends just short of Georgetown Ca..the mill pond, and donkey trails my grandpa created are still there,,,the mill pond is now someone "garden pond" and the owner had no clue why the stagnateant old pond was there until some 30 family members showed up at his door one day a few years ago..lol...the Eldorado county "do gooders" have also claimed the donkey trails my grandfater made as "heritage trails" they claim were created by the local native americans to "fetch water and fish",,,,my grandmother documented my grandfather using the donkeys and picks and shovel digging the trials himself,in someplaces the canyon walls are near vertical.FSX doesnt represent the canyon at all well..but fly from KAUN to E36 Georgetown ,if you start on the 07 numbers at take off over 25..i think thats called "using 25"?make a left hand 180* and and head east towards cool...well its not accaully 180..its less..but you can follow the road out of the canyon and see the "T" intersection at Cool,1/2 mile on the left in auburn lake trails... ok..my point to all this..my family...my mom dad, sister myself have never "had money"..weve allways just gotten by and weve allways done fine...never wanted for much..dad had a jeep to go 4x4ing on the imfamous "Rubicon" trail over the sierra nevada's and through the desolation wilderness, went spent almost every weekend in a sleeping bag in the mountains when i was a kid.i raced cars..my sister did her thing..(drugs ufortunantly)..we werent wealthy..were werent poor...we were happy....the relitives who had the money..who recieved the profit from the gold mines and lumber mill, they owned airplanes..ive talked about my uncle who built...

i got to see the one at blackhawk in person, that is a cool museum .as you can see in the photos..it is dark inside but the cars are lit up very well, one floor had gloss black floors..almost like a highly polished black glass, with black walls and cieling, the cars were lit with a bright light, but it was soft enough to not wash out details, and there were big photos and what have you on the walls with lights on them as well..was Erie and awesome at the same time.

Daveroo started a thread a cats tale in The NewsHawks
to me,this is hilarious .... Firefighters in New York City received an usual request: Rescue a cop stuck in a tree who'd been trying to rescue a cat. According to a hilarious account in the New York Post, New York’s finest spent about 30 minutes to right a rescue gone embarrassingly wrong. First, the New York Police Department responded to 911 phone calls from local residents in Queens who noticed a feline high up in a tree across from Public School 213, which was letting out. Veteran Police Officer Dane Natto and his partner arrived on the scene, and Natto tackled the tree, climbing up to get the cat. But the cat saw the cop coming and climbed higher, as did Natto. Finally, the officer admitted defeat. He then realized that he, too, was stuck in the tree—some 30 feet off the ground. A growing audience, including elementary schoolkids from PS 213, watched the fiasco unfold. “We looked out the window, and we saw the cop inside the tree—sitting,” Luna Giuong told the Post. “ partner was laughing at him." He stopped laughing long enough to call the New York Fire Department, which, writes the Post, “couldn’t believe what they were hearing.” When the NYFD arrived, “they didn’t go straight to helping him,” Giuong recalled. “They all gathered around and laughed at him. They took their time."

    Hey Dave,
Just read your piece about finding peace through the Lord at the SOH. That is,...is it possible? Yes,...the Good Lord reaches out to all of us. Depending if we care to reach back and open the door for Him. This might be a small, tiny step in renewing one's faith that one might have been lost some time ago. Take it from me,....I've walked the journey. I was on my knees one night to accept the Lord into my life. I haven't looked back.
    Best Regards,
    -Brad Kaste
