Hi hurricane! I may have a solution to your problem. I did an extensive search last night, and I couldn't locate a drop tank with the name "drop_tank_50gal" either. It seemed rather odd that the creator of the aircraft did not have the drop tank entry in the DP file match up with what was in the OBJECTS DP and SCENEDB folders concerning the drop tank that came with this aircraft. It's almost like it was an error on his part when he made the entry in the DP file. Anyway that being said this is what I did. First I deleted the CDP file. Next (assuming you had already installed the contents of your OBJECTS DP and SCENEDB folders) I renamed the entry "drop_tank_50gal" to "wep_P40_drop" in your DP folder. Loaded the plane up and there the tank was!! Let me know what you think? Looks good to me, but you may or may not need to tweak the location a bit, up, down, forward, back to suit your taste. Hope this helps. The only problem is it will not drop off of the aircraft when activated to do so. Maybe somebody here can help with that particular problem.:salute:

The address is http://www.zeppelin-museum.dk/ If you mail them you may persuade them to send you drawings og the hangars - which they have. Best regards Finn

Hi Ettico, thanks for the reply. In effects i would use CfsTmap (settled at sea level, and then add Rhumbaflappy meshes) to recreate Sicily and Sardinia with the beautiful custom textures of Frank Neubauer, if you recall him and his cfs1 creations; but, if we tweak the Scasm files, will we are able to solve the visibility problem?? Worthless, (Smacking head) I forgot to mention that! I always do in a campaign package, but I forgot in this one. Because in certain cases (Brest, Bordeaux, Reykjavik, Bodoe, etc.) the GSL scenery is close to Achim's bases, I include the airfield layout as part of the .gob work. I will have to specify that. You should always install Achim's bases first, then the GSL ports, which will add the second layer.

Yes. I've done it. The problem is that the CfsTmap scenery tiles become invisible beyond 8 miles, so if you use them to create blocks of scenery you have to set visibility to 8 miles to avoid wierd looking vistas off in the distance. Another problem is that cfs2 infrastructure will not sit on the cfs1 scenery will not sit on the cfs1 scenery tiles. So you have to flatten the cfs2 ground to 1 foot below the elevation of the Tmap scenery so the infrastructure has something to sit on. Small objects will have a slightly sunken appearance. However, aircraft will sit on the cfs1 tiles, if I recall correctly. If you create cfs1-type hills and mountains, they will show up in cfs2, but cfs2 will not otherwise detect them, other than to make them visible. bullets and bombs will fly right through them. All in all it's a bit problematic, but it can be done.

Good morning, And here is Bordeaux. There are two main concentrations of GSL scenery...just north of the city, where I chose to locate the U-boat pens, and just south of the heart of the city, where I chose to locate the commercial port. Also included are two road bridges over the river and a rail bridge.

I also included the harbor at Reykjavik in the Kondors! package, but am holding off on updating my Europe GSL ports package because I want to include Lorient and Bordeaux as well. (St. Nazaire will be a separate project with scenery assistance from tobob)

Hey guys, Achim has updated his Norwegian airfields, and many of them now blend in very well with the surrounding scenery. The airfields at Vaernes and Fornebu now have expanded runways, allowing for easier takeoffs with Heinkels, Dreifingers, and Kondors. Also included are revised airfields in Iceland, at Keflavik and a brand-new base at Reykjavik! Thank you to Achim for these, and I moved them to the top of the pile for you!

Hey guys, I'm having an unusual problem, and need some help. In Tobob's LaRochelle scenery, there is a scenery object called "tb_warf." When I'm using this object at Bordeaux, because space is tight, it is not generating a .cdp file when I try to fly a mission to check its placement. Because no .cdp file is generated, the mission will not load. If I remove that piece, the scenery loads fine. This is the scenery package: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=45&id=4071 Does anyone know what the problem is, and/or how to fix it? :isadizzy:

Discus, We have a winner! :salute: I actually had to place the U-boat pen just across the harbor from its actual location...because the amount of land available was not enough to place the U-boat pen correctly. I also used the other space to built a pretty large port...on the scale of Southampton. Luckily, almost the entire area was flat, so it made building relatively easy. Also on the slate are Bordeaux, and St. Nazaire.

Hi TW, you are right. Brian painted a big collection of non-trop AH's Bf109E-4 in desert camo and only two skins for the still very nice, specifically built for North African theatre, Bf109E-7 Trop by Mauro Giacomazzi. I long ago pushed for a preservation drive to upload all of Mauro Giacomazzi's production here at SOH but, evidently, all of Mauro's models and repaints were lost in both HDD crash and hacker attacks. It's high time to re-upload again Mauro's models for preservation, there's no need to ask for any permission as Mauro declared his models freeware public domain a long time ago already. The British aircraft section has only Mauro's Hurricane MkIIB and MkIID Trop, while Mauro's MkIIC, MkIIC Trop, MkIA Catapult and Sea Hurricane MkI are missing, while the MkIA and the Sea Hurricane MkIIC are available as AvHistory's rebuilds in the 1% library section.

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Aircraft - British Description: Update of Bismarck13's Bristol Bombay I took Bismarck13's (William Dickens) Bombay and simply did some refining to it. I created new skins with panel lines..basic servicable panel lines, nothing super sharp or detailed...just enough to give the plane some character. I revamped the DP file, using the Ground Crew British Weapons pack. There are 4 skins in this pack. The first is just a revamp of the original desert scheme that came with the plane. The second is a desert scheme Air Ambulance. Third is a Cargo variant in overall RAF Dark Green. Lastly is a Dark Green and Medium Sea Gray camo scheme...not accurate but looks nice. The Air Ambulance Skin: I attempted to recreate the Bombay in the markings of No1 Air Ambulance Unit, RAAF, based on an image sent to me by Hewman. Unfortunately, I was not able to do so in a manner that satisfied me. The Red Cross insignia on the sides of the fuselage should have No 1 Air Ambulance Unit RAAF in a semi-circle on the top half of the insignia...I was not able to produce that lettering in a curve with any of the software I have...or at least not with results that were good enough to use..they tended to be blurry and uneven. Secondly, the real RAAF Air Ambulance had the Red Cross insignia wrapped across the bottom of the fuselage..again, the results from many attempts to achieve this were less than stellar..very blurred, very streaky. So, I opted to include my first rendition of an Air Ambulance....it may not be totally accurate, but it looks good. And I think most simmers would rather have a good looking plane that is not quite on par with history than to have a historical skin that looks like crap. ________________________ A great big thank you to Bismarck for creating this fine aircraft. While it is not a super significant aircraft in terms of usage during WW2, it is a nice addition to the CFS2 line up of avaiable aircraft. Bismarck has produced many many aircraft that fit in this mold...planes that history and most model makers have over looked. Thanks also to Peperez and Hewman for supplying info on the colors and markings used on the Bombay. Thanks to the folks at Ground Crew for making and sharing their incredible British weapons pack. Very nicely modeled bombs in that pack. ________________________ Please refer to the original read me file by Bismarck13 (William Dickens). This is his work, and his rules aplly above all others. For my part...these skins are free ware. Feel free to tweak them to your own liking. Heck, if you want I will be glad to share my paint template if you want to repaint the plane in a way of your choosing...just shoot me a PM with your e-mail address and I will send you the Photoshop 5.0 files (can be used in Paintshop Pro as well). _________________________ Use these files at your own risk. I figured that much...... is the repaint you posted yours or can it be downloaded? Yes, I think it was a beginning of the low-visibility concept, adopted also by the R.A.F. with the top wing roundels right before the war started and the change at the end of 1941 of fuselage, underwing roundels and fin flash with thinner yellow and white bands.
