Hi Bear, In the number of missions built, I have learned very well how to use my AI wingmen. They can be a pain.. :banghead: I haven't had any of the issues you seem to be having? I will try several in ETO 1.50 expansion I have built for ground attack and anti shipping to check this. I tend to assign my AI targets and send them in pairs to attack, then I wait back and watch, allowing myself the option to attack any un-destroyed targets in a mission. I have learned to assign priorities, I.E.

Clive (Pat Pattle) OR Andy (Major Magee) might be able to help with this perhaps?? Testing the HMS Biter, Only thing I have seen is the left stack has no smoke.. Developing a attack mission with a Ju88 to test the Guns. Onward and Upward.

IJN Myoko Class Cruisers IJN Escort Carriers, Taiyo, Chuyo, Unyo, Shinyo and Kaiyo IJN Kako and Aoba cruisers Any would be welcomed, needless to say, but we are very short on any Japanese ships to speak of. In Rising sun they covered many of the US navy, and I am grateful. Just didn't have the Japanese finished. RATS! :applause:

Hi David, I am just experimenting with all of this. When I place the individual, formations they all fly nicely. But this takes a great deal of time to set up. Trying to develop a spawn or set of spawns that will do this also. The Bombers seem to start avoiding at 800 ft. or so..(from each other) So placing them requires that they be at least this far apart. As these as I develop this method for missions. I am making notes on how best to set Large formations up, without having to spend many hours just placing the aircraft. Lots of outside the box thinking for this right now.

Much of the avoiding, turning is from my attacks.. One is from a spawn in a screenshot I made for 240 aircraft. ( a test) That is wild to watch suddenly 240 aircraft explode into the mission. Once they "explode" they settle down and fly correctly. the ones where I place the aircraft that doesn't happen. In a formation where they are tightly packed, once the AI and the player start attacking the AI Bombers tend to avoid any attackers that get too close.. And the turning often are from this. action. If you leave the bomber formations alone and don't attack. They fly straight and level. Sorting out the formations is the challenge in the missions when building them.

The Polish pilots of the Battle of Britain were amazing. I have set up a set of 200+ aircraft missions, to match the numbers engaged . Takes a bit of arranging with how the CFS3 game engine is set up. But it really changes how I like (fly) these. Much better for me using the large formations, a true challenge.. Had to make a smoking "dead stick" landing, but still made it

Massive raid, Inbound 280+ aircraft BOB.. Built a spawn that has 240 in it, and added another 50 with proper placement of the formations. This is getting interesting.
