The Martin-produced Baltimore was a light-to-medium class bomber whose design was based highly on the Martin "Maryland" A-22 aircraft. The twin-engine, four-crew system was fielded en masse by forces of the United Kingdom through the Lend-Lease act (among others in limited production numbers) and would see action from 1942 through the middle of 1945 in Africa, the Middle East and Europe. By the end of the war, some 1,500 examples would be in circulation with Britain fielding the system in no fewer than five distinct marks. Italy Co-Belligerent Air Force used Martin Baltimores at bombing missions over the Balcans.
David Copley was kind enough to give me permission to convert his P-38 series from FS2004 to CFS2. Please read the DCC permission document.
The models and sounds are all his credits. I only converted the models to a CFS2 format.
The aircraft.cfg and air files are also David's work with some slight tweaks to adapt them for CFS2.
Because CFS2 does not use the alpha channel reflectivity feature of FS2004, I reworked the original aircraft textures for CFS2 to hopefully have them appear largely as David intended them to look in FS2004 (plus a couple of changes to give the pilot a leather helmet, some dirty wheels etc.)
The prop texture was replaced with one by Morton which works better for CFS2.
The panel was replaced with one by Morton. The panel.cfg VC section was modified to match David's VC models.
See the original FS2004 documents for additional credits.
Lockheed PV1 Ventura (early) skin by UncleTgt
This is a repaint for Pepe's CFS 2 conversion of Pakayan's Ventura.
This aircraft is from VP136 USN based in the Aleutians during 1943.
I know the turret's the wrong type, but there's no other decent PV-1 I've come across to use as a start point. I also alpha'd out the auxiliary wing fuel tanks, as they weren't always carried. I've included a tweaked dp that includes some more suitable weapon loads.
I've done 2 optional schemes, a 2 color & 3 color schemes, both with the red outline to the star & bar insignia, as this was a transitional period for USN aircraft paint & markings. Just choose which one you like best.
Thanks to
Pakayan for the original aircraft model, & Pepe for a great CFS 2 conversion

APR 2011
This is a revision of the old Martin 139 developed for CFS 2 by Pakayan & Sandydog. Because of the extensive nature of the revisions I've decided to upload as a complete aircraft for ease of installation.
This started out as an exercise in improving my G-Max skills. The model has been revised extensively. It's been demirrored & remapped. I added an interior & replaced the original crew figures with revised versions of Dave Garwood's Avro Anson crew figures. Much of the original model was discarded or changed in some way, for instance I adapted the wings & nacelles from Paul Clawson's B10, then changed the wing sweep for the Model 139/166 used by the Dutch. I added wing fillets, the fuselage nose shape was changed etc.
The 30 cal guns are new, as are the canopies, which are animated. The default flying condition is with the rear canopy open, pilot's canopy closed with the 30 cal deployed, ready for action...the AI aircraft will appear this way.
I added a few details to the cockpit interior. The prop disk has some depth to it, like Akemi modelled his prop disks.
The front canopy opens/closes using the canopy command.
The rear canopy closes operating the tail hook. The 30 cal stows away & the canopy closes. The real thing opened like an umbrella, but the geometry defeated me, so I've reverted to a simple up/down rear canopy animation.
The bomb-bay doors open/close with the Slats key ("D")
The airfile was thoroughly revised to give believable performance in speed, range & ceiling. It could still be improved though...
The dp file makes use of my Dutch, British & early war USAAC bombs
I added a VC to match the existing 2D panel, & created a simple bombsight window.
The textures supplied are: M-597 Aircraft used by 1VLG, KNIL. Shot down over Penang, 1st January 1942.
M-556 Aircraft used by 3VLG, KNIL & abandoned at Singapore, 15th February 1942.
M-5108 Aircraft used by 3VLG, KNIL & shot down over Kalidjati 3rd March 1942.
To install, unzip the download to a temporary location & move/ copy files to the matching folder names inside your chosen CFS 2 install.
Thanks to: Pakayan & Paul Clawson for their original FS2000/2002 aircraft.
Shessi & Allen for answering my noob questions regarding G-Max.
Dave Garwood for the use of his Anson crewmen.
A big thank you to Allen for his model tutorial, & DOSmdlc_v2 tools.

Someone asks me to upgrade this plane. I made a new airfile, a new DP and added a non operational VC. It's the second of a serie of four WW2 Fokker bombers. The plane was intended to use at Dutch East Indies and flies like a German Ju88. It was the most modern Dutch warplane in 1939 and deserved be built in more number. It could be a match for Japanese fighters. The prototype was damaged in a accident and was never repaired because of the German 1940 invasion. You have a complete GPS and a decent autopilot.
