A general purpose version of the Vildebeest - torpedo crutch replaced by an external fuel tank. Also equipped with a message hook - air to ground radio a bit dodgy in those days.
This model represents an 8 Sqn aircraft based in Aden, from where they attacked Italian forces in East Africa.
This aircraft is a conversion of AF Scrubs Westland Wapiti for FS2004. I've split Scrub's Mk I & Mk III a/c into separate a/c so CFS 2 can handle them better.
All I did was to mix up a reasonable paint job, & tweaked a Hardy dp file by Peperez. I borrowed a Potez 25 airfile to get it flying in CFS 2. Sound is aliased to the A6M2 Zero to keep the download filesize manageable.
I simply tweaked the original Mk III SAAF skin.
To install, simply extract to a temporary folder & copy over into the correct CFS 2 folders.
French recce aircraft of mid 1930s - still in use at outbreak of war tho' obselete - had the misfortune to be the first French aircraft shot down by the Germans.
Dombral of SOH asked me to model this aircraft about a year ago - I didn't do it at the time because detailed info was so scarce ( one rather poor 3-view and a few grainy photos ). One year on and that hadn't changed but I thought I'd give it a go anyway.
I think I have captured the shape but I claim no great accuracy. Similarly the 2D and vc panels are complete inventions as I had no info on them at all. Likewise the armament info was contradictory but settled on two sync. mgs on top of engine and two in rear cockpit. The position I have adopted for the wing bomb racks is also quite arbitrary.
So all in all a work more of imagination than fact
As usual I have given it one of my appalling paint jobs so feel free to re-do it.
There 's a Hispano Suiza sound file in Lawdog's stuff ( page 2) at SOH
This is an updated model from the previous CFS2 Audax uploaded. It has a few minor mdl tweaks, and animation changes. Nothing huge, but makes it more user and paint mod friendly.
This is an addon to my Bad Duck model. There is nothing new in the VC but that is in the works for an entirely new release of the duck coming in the not to distant future. There are some changes to the external model in the Mount Kyle version that will be seen in later updates to all the models.
My thanks to the superb artwork of JanKees Blom for his textures.
