IS4G Savoia Marchetti 79 Sparviero
IS4G Italian air force standard bomber during WWII the S.79 Sparviero (sparrow-hawk) was extensively used as horizontal bomber and torpedo-bomber. The military version derived from a civilian one that obtained prestigious results, in the thierties, in many aerial competitions; the most famous was the Paris-Damascus-Istres air race in 1937; three S.M.79C planes obtained the first three places, overperforming the french and british competitors. On wearing the uniform the Sparviero was modified with a dorsal hunch to receive the rear-facing 12.7 mm Breda-Safat machine gun; from that moment on it was know as "Il Gobbo (The Hunchback)". The first squadrons to receive were assigned to bombing missions and soon, with the breakout of the war, new torpedo-bombing units were formed; the Sparviero was perfectly suited for this job, thanks to its manouvrability and capability to sustain heavy damage, and obtained the greatest successes against the british convoys in the Mediterranean. Thank you for choosing another FDG plane and for supporting www.donationware.net!
Install:
Follow the prompts in the install wizard and the FDG2 SBD pack will be automatically installed into FS9 for you. If you wish to do a manual install, please point the installer towards a temporary folder and unpack the contents. You can then places the files into the proper location at your own discretion.
Uninstall:
No uninstall program is included with this software. To uninstall, find the FDG2_SBD_uninstall.log file located in the [FS_Root]\Aircraft\FDG2_SBD-5_Dauntless folder. This contains a list of all the files installed and their locations. Delete the listed files and the plane is uninstalled. Some of the CFS1, CFS2, and FS2000/FS2002 default gauges are included with this install. Other planes in your library may need these gauges, so it is recommended that you do not delete these gauges without backing them up first.
Our thanks go out to everyone who contributed to the creation and testing of this set. We couldn't have done it without ya!

To improve on the performance afforded by the 690 hp Jumo 210 of the earlier Bf 109 versions, the larger, longer 1080 hp Daimler-Benz DB 601A engine was used. As a consequence, the nose, cooling system, and wings had to be redesigned resulting in the classic Bf 109 series. In late 1938, the Bf 109E entered production. It entered general service with the Luftwaffe in the spring of 1939. A total of 1,183 E-1 were built, 110 of them were E-1/B fighter bomber versions.
There were many small differences between individual E-1s because the E-1 was often modified in the field by groundcrew and rear area repair depots. The production standard was lightly armed with two 7.92mm MG17s above the engine and two in the wings and had no pilot armor. Mods included types of pilot head armor,E-4 type squared canopies, E-7 type pointed spinners, etc., but changing the wing MG17 armament required new different wings.
So each model we have created has its own unique features. This aircraft sports the oldest camouflage scheme used on the E-1.
By the time the later Bf 109E-4 and Bf 109E-7 marks were equipping the Jagdgeschwaders a program was initiated to withdraw and remanufacture the surviving E-1s to either full E-4 or E-7 standard.
Pstrany is the primary model author with some small model refinement and additions by Captain Kurt as the model was collaborated on during development. Captain Kurt created the textures for each, the 2D instrument panel, the individual .dp files, air files and aircraft.cfg files.
This project started some 2 years ago after “Marg” uploaded its excellent mesh/coastlines for Malta. This prompted the dream of a complete detailed scenery for the island, starting of course with the three main airfields (Luqa, Ta Qali and Hal Far), but soon extending to the city of Valetta with its forts, maltese towers along the coast, Kalafrana seaplane base, and ultimately the cities of Mosta and Mdina. Here’s the result of all this work, which could certainly still be improved, but sometimes in design you have to decide you’ve done enough and share the results ! I still think that this is probably the most complex piece of scenery ever created for CFS2, and I had great fun building it.
