Make an FSX native model of a P-61?? I've had this hankering to do one for a couple years now, and its time one was done.. its not like its going to be yet another p-61.. There havent been any. Yes, I know it looks like a B-25 with an identity complex, but all you gotta do is watch the training vids for this thing and you'll see its far far from a B-25 and handles more like a small fighter.. So PLEASE????? :) Pam

Hey all, I have just released the giant Boeing B-797 Flying Wing. This is freeware and available here in the Addons section of the SOH. If its been out a while, look under key words Boeing B-797 Lionheart. This features a basic VC, 32bit resolution textures, (not all of them), a retracting sky-stair in the belly, 2 futuristic fuel trucks that appear 3 min's after the engines are shut down, clam shell rudders, a 'flat turning' airfile to keep passengers in outer wing seats from spilling their drinks, 3 liveries, and features the new 'FS9 Unlimited Export' system with super small switches in the VC perfectly modeled, and a giant 13 meg model file. This shatters the 65,000 polygon limit and 4MM Vertex proximity 'auto-weld' limit. If your computer stumbles on the textures (as they are 32bit), then simply recompile with DXTBmp.exe (google that) and change their resolution to DXT-3 format. NOTE: This is in FS2004 format. If you run in DX10, you will need to switch-out/convert the textures to upside-down DDS format textures.

Just found this at FlightSim - <CENTER>FS2004 (ACOF) - FS2004 Warbirds </CENTER><CENTER>FS2004/FSX Macchi MC205 </CENTER><CENTER>Download | View ] </CENTER> Name: macchi_mc205.zip Size: 4,703,711 Date: 09-01-2010 FS2004/FSX Macchi MC205. The C. 205 was a single-seat, all-metal, monoplane fighter, intended primarily as an interceptor but with ground attack and escort capabilities. The long nose housed a Fiat RA.1050 R.C. Tifone engine (built under license from the German DB605 engine) which drove a three-blade, constant-speed metal propeller. Three liveries are provided: one model reproduces the aircraft displayed at Vigna di Valle hystoric museum, with the co-belligerant Italian Air Force livery, a second one with the livery of Regia Aeronautica (Italian Royal Air Force circa year 1943) and a third one with the livery of 'Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana' operated in the last part of World War II with the 'Repubblica Sociale Italiana' Air Force. The package features very accurate visual model and VC, highly reflective metallic skin and full animations. The panel background has been created entirely from scratch, based on photographic material found on the net and some photos from an official operating manual. Most of the gauges have been created by the author, a few are default gauges. Included in this model is a virtual cockpit, with working essential flight instruments and animated flight controls, plus camera views (FSX only). By Italo D'Attomo.

I have the Aerosoft Dillingham X scenery...but it has started displaying ground above the runway. I can't upload the screenshots because of an upload problem. Madeira X is the same way. Is there a fix for this?
Many thanks to Bruce for the skins.
For those interested in tubeliners Aerosoft have released their AirbusX: http://en.shop.aerosoft.com/eshop.php?action=article_detail&s_supplier_aid=11177&s_design=DEFAULT&shopfilter_category=Flight%20Simulation
Coming very soon, perhaps the nicest light twin ever, owned and operated by a certain Mr Ken. However it is come to our attention that his recent visit to the "Emerald City" raised a few eyebrows and blew off a few hats. Cheers: T
http://www.justflight.com/newsDetail.asp?newsID=1586 High time somebody actually released a FSX-native DC-3 to build on the default. Doesn't seem like MAAM-Sim have any chance of delivering theirs in the 75th Anniversary year, and A2A are backed-up with other projects.
Anyone know of a moving map similar to FSNav that works in FSX, in FULL SCREEN mode. Thanks, LouP

Hi all, Are any of you coming along to the Duxford airshow this weekend? If you are, please come and visit us (and Aerosoft, Saitek, Flight1, First Class Sim, PC Pilot etc) at the Flight Sim 2010 show: http://www.flightsimulatorshow.com/ We will have the DC-3/C-47 and some other upcoming projects available for you to have a fiddle with! Would be great to see some of the SOH crew there. Thanks Martyn
Hi! I can't resist to share with you this screenshot. Firstly, because I like it (lol) and secondly because I've just try in-flight refueling in a multiplayer session and it was very excited!! Now, after such a funny flight, I have to go back to work on my VC... :bump: Regards, Sylvain
Well, finally have a couple of screenshots of the 109K to share, still very much a w.i.p., but along enough to give a hint of what's coming. Not everything textured or complete, but you get the picture. You have to experience the flight model to believe it. Plus, a couple of shots of the Boomerang: one in her native combat environment, thanks to Mark aka roger-wilco-66 and everyone who did such a tremendous job, and a second which shows the tracers from the working weapons systems (yellow tracers for the cannons, red for the machine guns) - this screenshot doesn't really do the gun system justice, but it's all a screenshot will show. :) Booma also now has a fully working intertial starter system, pilot operated two-stage boost for operating at altitude, and you'd better look after your engine.... :) Just finishing up the gauge work on the Boomerang at present, so release shouldn't be too far away. :mixedsmi: (And thanks again to Bill Womack for the Dillingham, Hawaii scenery!)
This seems to crept under the radar here, a few years ago, it would have been big news. If you are a Horizon VFR photo-scenery user, about 60% of these new airfields have been covered already as freeware. Still, it's a nice package, although a little expensive. Having said that, its about 50p (80 cents) an airfield and some like Manchester airport are BIG! http://www.uk2000scenery.com/vfrairfields/My_Homepage_Files/Page18.html
Have any USN repaints been completed and uploaded yet? I am several hundred miles away from my FSX computer, but want to keep on top of what repaints get done! Thanks NC
Hey all, This is going to be a difficult question for alot of you that are FSX hardliners. Do you think that FS2004 planes run worse in FSX then FSX planes? Now, before you immediately answer yes, think about if they 'really are' performing worse? If a plane has no bumps to bump map, and the glass and chrome in the FS2004 port-over look reasonably good already, then why make it in FSX format? For instance, the Boeing I just created was so huge, that you really cannot bump map it. The pixels for the rivets would be scaled the size of plates, so it would have looked goofy. I could actually see no reason to convert the monster into FSX.
MAAM-SIM Jan - was wondering about the N3N trainer you had posted about here awhile back.... How is that progressing and will the Dc-3 / C-47 project be ahead or behind it WRT to rollout Personally I am equally enthusiastic about these 2 projects - oh yes - enthusiastic ..will there be a float equipped N3N at initial release?
I watched this yesterday. Lionheart and MirageIII2008, you'll like this! Here are the main combat scenes. Note: if your network can handle HD streaming, click on the YouTube graphic below and "Watch on YouTube"; then bump the resolution up to 720p. yRSRzJATMl0& In real life, and in most alternative histories, the next step after prop fighters was jets. Here, it's counter-rotating props.
Just a little something im working on at the moment. The old Alphasim T-6, still WIP at the moment.
I am sad to report that Ian "Thatch" Thatcher has passed away as of Aug. 28, 2010. He was well known for the original fs-shipyards web site and was a prolific scenery designer under the names of Garrish Grey and Andy Weir. Remember Garrish Grey's trees for FS9? I developed an interest in Carrier Ops some years ago and Thatch was very helpful in getting me started on the right foot. His contributions are too many to list and he will be missed by all. I offer my condolences to his family and Thatch, may you RIP. With all regards, Paul "PutPut" Clawson
A thread from a week or two ago requesting info on available Military Bases Scenery prompted me to download about 25 of Jim Cooks excellent creations which also pushed me into setting up a rather loose Cross Country that started in Washington State (Fairchild AFB) and will end at Bangor International. I'm currently parked at Col. Springs in my T-38. I'm taking some screens, but not a huge amount, just a few whenever the urge hits me. Thanks to Jim for some excellent work on these and many other Military Bases across the country. It's been great so far, flying into his bases really gives an extra sense of realism that just wouldn't be there otherwise.:salute:
Good evening all. As everyone knows (or hopefully) release is getting ever closer for the 310. As we wrap up the remaining thing on that list we had Nick take some preview shots of the release candidates exterior and VC for you to enjoy. While our internal release window has slipped the release is still not to far away. Other than that there is not to much going on with the other aircraft at the moment since we are full steam ahead trying to bring this bird to the public. As always feel free to comment on the screens. This is the release candidate so if anything is spotted out of place please let us know. Although I think Mr. Stallings has done an excellent job making sure this aircraft looks exactly like his bird in real life. So enjoy the shots, and we look forward to getting this aircraft in your hands as soon as we can!
I have just uploaded these 2 paints here and at Flightsim for Razbams Corsair. I just finished the camo on this one. Not quite happy with the colors yet, but getting close.
Hey guys my PC hasn't had a virus ever - at least not with this motherboard. Somehow MS Security Essentials picked it up in two RXP.dll files while I was trying to start up FSX.... This wasn't a fresh download or anything - I've had the RXP GNS430W installed on my system for quite some time. Warning showed up today after I downloaded the latest definitions from MS. I'm not sure what this is all about... Anyone come across this virus before???
