"title_string"=Operation Mezzagosto - Intrus dans la Méditerranée!
"summary_string"=Écoutez, les pilotes français! An enormous Allied convoy has entered the Méditerranée, and it's our task to analyze the composition of this convoy and pass the information along to our German & Italian friends near Sardinia and Sicily. The convoy isn't within their grasp just yet. Combat operations may depend on your intelligence, so let's get it correct the first time!
"objective_string"=Convoy WS-21 / S entered the Mediterranean Sea on 10 August 1942 en route from the British Isles. For the Italian & German forces involved, the goal was simple...eradicate the merchants and oilers to deny Malta her lifeline and force her beleaguered citizens to surrender!
"intelligence_string"=Our German friends still refuse to provide us with superior cameras, so in order to reconnoitre these convoys successfully, you can't stray above 4,250 meters. Doing this will force you to break off and come around for another pass. Once you receive a message this Allied convoy has been successfully photographed, radio in to headquarters and return to La Senia. Je te dis merde!

First of all, thank you for the work you did to un-mirror the stock planes. It's a big contribution to the game and the community.

I've been working on a skin for your overhauled F6F3 Hellcat and have run into a skin distortion issue on the starboard side tail. I wonder if you would be interested in going back to your model and looking at it or not. It would be great if you could as I think the F6F3 is potentially the best Hellcat model in CFS2 even with the distortion. I'd do it myself but that is beyond my limited skills.

You may not have even been aware of it as the skin for the overhaul model - the G symbol arrow masks the skin distortion - but if you place a number on the tail it bends out of shape. See picture number 1. With a lot of trial and error, I was able to get the number to show fairly straight (picture number 2). Picture number 3 shows how the number had to be painted to get to picture number 2.

If you'd rather not go over old ground again, I can understand that, just thought I'd give it a shot. The tail was a common location for Hellcat ID numbers and G symbol markings. Regardless, thanks again for all your contributions.

Hi to all,

I have just made (in Photoshop) a cartoon figure that I name "The Bombay Baboon", which I intend to use in a fictional repaint of the Bristol Bombay, along with the 4 non-fictional ones I will upload, as a bonus extra repaint for those who will download it.
I titled it THE BOMBAY BABOON in order to alliterate the B's (there are 3 b's in the title).

I attach the image. It will appear on the port side nose of the Bombay on a background of dark earth.

I would then like your opinion:

Should I leave it square as this image is or should I make the black background round or oval?

I titled it THE BOMBAY BABOON in order to alliterate the B's (there are 3 b's in the title).

I attach the image. It will appear on the port side nose of the Bombay on a background of dark earth.

I would then like your opinion:

Should I leave it square as this image is or should I make the black background round or oval?
I chose black so that it may contrast well with the dark earth background of the camouflage color.

Or would you have another color to propose--except white, which will clash with the lettering?

Your tastes matter and will be taken into consideration in the degree that is possible.

I have been working on this repaint for so long that I now think I am suffering from acute Bombay-itis and need to get my head examined....

Problem with uploading Bombay repaint

I have the Bombay repaint ready to upload, but I tried to get permission from its maker, William Dickens, to upload my repaint and the email address he gives in his most recent files does not work--my emails do not reach him at all.
:isadizzy:

What does one do in cases like this?

What would SOH policy be here?

Any ideas?

Hey guys,

I finally have the intelligence I needed to fix the Junkers Ju-88A-4 and A-11 series aircraft's fuel capacity. I have included files for the A-11, the desert model, since I think I will finish up Mezzagosto before going back to the Balkans project. This same fuel load can be used for the A-4 model using AirEd.

The Ju-88 has a tendency to "eat" fuel, so I did some research with the help of my kamaraden at the Axis History Forum.

Not only did the Ju-88 have a 1,220 liter optional tank in the front bay, she also had a 680 liter optional tank in the rear bay. I will try to do the .dp work to include the rear fuselage tank, but this is not my forte. Let me know if anyone can help.
