Good news. People, be aware this is a 1.39Gb download and it seems only available by Torrent - I only mention because some folks are timid of the evil torrent, :biggrin-new:

Yes there is lots of discussion about torrents on the BMS site. I personally used utorrent, but an older version: V3.1.3. My download only took about 5 minutes, max.

Apparently the newer versions of utorrent install malware or adware if you're unaware while installing. I think you can choose not to install all the rubbish and just install utorrent, but there seems to be a bit of concern and debate over this. Bittorrent is another one you can use, and there are plenty of other choices.

If you are worried, just do a bit of research before downloading any torrent program. Most importantly, when installing be sure to untick any boxes offering to install ohter software, and just install the torrent program itself. If you still don't want to risk it, download links for BMS will be provided soon on the same page where the torrent link is available. They are apparently just waiting until the torrent is well seeded and stable before adding these mirrored links.

Cheers,

Deluge is a good safe one. Open source, no ads, no malware from the program itself.

Just a heads up; there are now direct download links for the new Falcon BMS if you don't like or have torrent software.

That's correct Ted. Due to copyright issues the new installer requires Falcon 4.0 to be installed. The new BMS checks for the installed Falcon 4.0 before it first installs and also on every start up of BMS 4.33.

Falcon 4.0 can also be purchased at GOG (https://www.gog.com/) and it doesn't cost too much. They are also having regular sales where you can pick it up for around $3-$5. I believe it can also be purchased on Steam. At least BMS is still free. And that's the best part.

Geezzz.... I remember Falcon 4.0, and... I still have the original package from Micro Prose. Also the 1.08 Patch for the Falcon sim, (which never worked that well for me). Still, I was always getting the seat shot out from under my butt when I flew my F-16 into a sorte or CAS missions. Finally parked the trusty ol' Viper, took up an F4U-1A Corsair in CFS2. Did much better in that sim. :biggrin-new: Looks like BMS has really enhanced Falcon, since its release. :encouragement:

After all these years, it still reigns supreme as a first rate military modern combat sim.
