Description: My years of on and off work in attempting to convert CFS1 to CFS2. While far from perfect it should serve as good base for any one that wants to get into the Battle for Europe with minimal work.

CFS1 to CFS2 is meant as totally separate install of CFS2. While most of CFS1 to CFS2 four parts has most of the required things. Users will need to follow Rami's ETO installation guide.zip for the basic ground scenery.

While I have tried my best with all things the fact remains that I’m a jack of all trades but master of none so I welcome any improvements. Particularly for missions and AI aircraft behavior.

Good thinking using the old CFS1 as it had quite a lot of good things.:applause: I just wonder why you didn't start with part 1?:dizzy:

Rami has to appove the other parts.

CFS1 to CFS2 is 4 parts (5 for an optional part). Part 1 and 2 are aircraft. Part 3 is a miscellaneous set up. (Missions, INFO folder update, UIRES folder update .etc) Part 4 is Objects/Weapons, updates for some CFS1 ships, British and German radio chatter and new opening.mpg)

CFS1 to CFS2 Text is optional update for CFS1 to CFS2. Will update the mdlnames.txt, descrip.dat, outcome.dat, scuttlebutt.dat and ai_playr.dll. I made this optional as the ai_playr.dll is in english and are non english users may not like having part of the menus in english.

Allen,

You did a very nice job on these! I know from experience how much of a pain in the neck converting CFS1 missions can be; I'm working on a set right now! :encouragement:

Congrats on this major release! :applause: :ernaehrung004: :applause:

Allen,

Thanks so much!

I always enjoyed CFS1, but hated the purple sky and other limitations.
I was disappointed when CFS2 came out and did not build in CFS1 with it, though not really complaining, because the Pacific needed a good sim.

Looking forward to d/ling and installing your work.

My missions still need work as I lack mission building experience but the UIRES where a pain in the neck. No info on what format they had to be saved in. I still had a few images that I needed to replace for the Training Mission but at this point the stock ones will work. I don't see many even look at the Training Mission but I did them for all 3 sides anyway.

Well like many things in CFS2 it looks like CFS1 was partly planned but never fully done. The airbases.dat had the runways for MB and the objects where done but with out destroyed models.

Don't forget the basic ground scenery.
