Hi Folks,
Just awaiting a couple of bits and pieces, and then will upload. Another rebuild/conversion ac, this time is an old Fs2002/2004 model of a Dutch Dornier Do24K to a Luftwaffe Do24T3 spec. Wim kindly let me bash it around and add a VC, multi LOD, re-mapping the tex's and new crew, texs etc.

Rami, you ought to know better by now! ;)

Cheers

Mark,

Damn, she looks sweet!

Jim,

It's more than just the Western Desert. The Kondors campaign, the Battle of Britain project and the Balkans project use her too.

Mark,

Thank you for this timely release, as I finished the last Balkan mission yesterday and am going through the process of preparing its unveiling. You did outstanding work on this, do you mind if I include it in the package?

Also, I fiddled with the aircraft.cfg and airfile, eliminating a lot of FS9 junk, and correcting the weight and fuel load. I have attached the files for your approval.

Kelticheart - I would like to release my Balkans package by 6 April, the 75th anniversary of the German invasion. Could you potentially have an updated .dp and prop textures by then?

Not to add any pressure...lol

:running:...... :tongue-new:.....

Ok Rami, I'll see what I can do for you. What do you want me to do in the dp?

Shessi:

Would you mind pointing me towards a good, updated English language dictionary? I ran out of words to praise your work........:adoration:

THANK YOU!

Stefano,

Provide similar payload options to the Groundcrew model, or a historically accurate loadout.

Hi Shessi,
Great work, thank you. I particularly like the front gunner viewed from the cockpit - looks very realistic.

Thanks Kelti, Dick, glad you like it.

Rami,
I appreciate it may be a 'what-if' mission/campaign, but unfortunately the Do24 was never used offensively. That's why I didn't add any bomb load to the ac.

Cheers

I´ve always liked the Do-24! There was one as a Gate Guardian at Oberpfaffenhofen Airport, near Munich in Germany, some years ago, but unfortunately it is gone now.

Thanks for this one, Shessi!

Cheers guys, she is a good looking bird.

Don't forget it wouldn't be here without the skill and generosity of Wim, the original Dutch Do24 model maker!

Hi Mark,

What a great looking aircraft.

Thanks for your efforts on this.:applause::applause::applause:

The Netherlands Navy used these in the Dutch East Indies.

Cheers,

Stuart

As Stuart says the Dutch East Indies Air force had some and when the war erupted in that area the surviving aircraft were used by the Australians around New Guinea ( incidently I did a very a very bad repaint of the Groundcrew CFS2 version many years ago when I was just starting out with the game - it's on Page 7 of my stuff - that's if Rami has sorted the link) -- perhaps our resident artists could do something along these lines.

Hi folks,

looking for historical info on the Do-24 I stumbled on this first:

http://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/watch-this-one-of-a-kind-dornier-do-24-flying-boat-spin-1729517762

and then this:

https://www.facebook.com/JukinVideo/videos/957551014333169/

Quite impressive, the aircraft was damaged but it's under repair and it should be back in the air soon.

Perhaps the 1930's era of flying boats it's not that outdated after all. Wouldn't water landing save passengers' lives in case of an emergency landing?
