Actor George Kennedy passed away on Monday. He moved easily between movie and early TV roles and won an Oscar for his portrayal in COOL HAND LUKE. Just about any role you could name
he could bring it to life on the big or little screen. From the DIRTY DOZEN to THE NAKED GUN series, he did well in either genre.

RIP Mr. Kennedy, you will still be entertaining us for decades to come.

If you have not seen the movie, "Thunderbolt and Lightfoot", you will enjoy it. Stars Jeff Bridges, Clint Eastwood, and Kennedy is in that as well. Great flick: Warning.....bad language at end of youtube clip.

He played the BEST TWA mechanic, Joe Patroni, in the old AIRPORT movies.

He drove a Boeing 707 through a snow covered ramp to move it out of the way of an incoming crippled airliner in that scene. After successfully doing what the airport staff said couldn't be done, he tossed his cigar behind the seat. I enjoyed those old Airport movies....

I was in an AF aircraft maintenance sq at the time of that film and I assure you Mr. Kennedy's portrayal of Patroni was HUGELY popular with the troops!
