Although there is a thread already in Newshawks I felt we of 'The Basement' should have our own.

Without a doubt the test piloting skills of this great man, whether in the cockpit of a captured Luftwaffe aircraft or on his many carrier landings, is responsible for much of the data our own 'great and good' utilise so that the rest of us may try to emulate his experiences.

The finest pilot in the world has received a new set of wings.

Hear, hear.

One by one, all of the people who lived through and knew the dawn of modern aviation are fading away. Most sad, such is life.

Godspeed Mr. Brown, may your deeds never be forgotten.
