Back when I was a kid my sister and me had a huge crate full of Lego, collected over the years. Due to circumstances we no longer have it, but with the release of the new Star wars movie and all the related lego kits the itch came back... So I am now the proud owner of my first new kit in at least 25 years: Kylo Ren's command shuttle!
Over a thousand pieces, and it took over four hours to piece it together. Couldn't resist taking some photos with my phone during the build with the little figures:

"Men, this is what I am looking for. But bigger. and with folding wings!"

"Where are we going to start with this pile of parts...?"

"Where do I start sorting...? "

"Can't you just lift it with the force..?" (Famous last words..)

Finished model, wings and gear folded:

Wings extended, the finished shuttle is about 45 centimeters/18 inches tall:

Really enjoyed building this model, it took me back many years. Only downside are the wings, that don't fold out like in the movie. Guess I'll have to order a few extra parts in the future to correct that. ;-)

Ahhh, Ferry, this is where the age gap really tells - Lego didn't exist for some of us !

My first Meccano set I remember well - dad made up this Schneider plane for me and said 'you're on your own now' !

Found this photo on a toy auction website, but mine was exactly the same.......must have been in the late 1940's....perhaps where my love of floaters began.

PS It didn't fly well.....

Your return to Lego gives me some warm memories, Ferry. I also grew up with it and sometimes get a tiny bit jealous on those great models you can get today we didnīt have when we were kids... However Iīd probably gone for a more classic Star Wars model, quess I am really oldschool;-)

Moreover If you enjoy detailed models, this could be the ultimate "top of the pops". A real joy for all rivet-counters out there. https://www.classicdriver.com/en/art...-little-secret (https://www.classicdriver.com/en/article/planes/supermarine-spitfire-has-little-secret)
