Thanks Rami.

Now I have forgotten how to incorporate them into the model a/c config file. :banghead:

I currently have the "Aleutian tiger."

What is it that you want to do?

I have a KM_p-40e_v5 that has the attached aircraft.cfg-Aleutian Tiger that is a U.S. texture and want to change it to any p-40 texture for RAAF. I though somehow the a/c config has to match the texture- ??

//AFM P-40E 6:10 PM 12/30/2003
[fltsim.0]
title=P-40 E-1 "Aleutian Tiger"
sim=P-40E
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=
KB_checklists=afm_p40e_check

Highpockets,

All you need to do is change this title=P-40 E-1 "Aleutian Tiger" to something like this title=P-40 E-1 "RAAF". I'd also change the aircraft folder name.

Highpockets,

All you need to do is change this title=P-40 E-1 "Aleutian Tiger" to something like this title=P-40 E-1 "RAAF". I'd also change the aircraft folder name.

Hi Highpockets,

if you want to keep the "Aleutian Tiger" textures active, you can also add a new texture folder to the P-40E aircraft main folder, naming it in this way:

\texture.RAAF

Then, to have the P-40E dressed in RAAF livery show in your FF selection menu, you have to edit your aircraft.cfg in this way:

[fltsim.0]
title=P-40E-1 "Aleutian Tiger"
sim=P-40E
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=
KB_checklists=afm_p40e_check

[fltsim.1]
title=P-40E-1 "Shuftie" RAAF 75th Sq.
sim=P-40E
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=RAAF
KB_checklists=afm_p40e_check

With this method you can have two textures, or more, for a single aircraft install. The only problem here is that you will only see what CFS2 considers the main livery show up if you fly this P-40E in missions/campaigns. CFS2 Mission Builder ignores additional texture folders. In this case, it would be the

[fltsim.0]
title=P-40 E-1 "Aleutian Tiger"
sim=P-40E
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=
KB_checklists=afm_p40e_check

If you want to have your P-40E dressed in RAAF colours show up in your missions, then there's no alternative but duplicating your aircraft install, placing the RAAF textures in your aircraft main \texture folder.

Keep in mind the duplicated aircraft folder must retain the name listed in your mission. Otherwise, if the mission contains a reference to the "Aleutian Tiger" folder, it will have to be hand-edited as well, to reflect the new aircraft folder name.

To avoid hand-editing missions, if your original "Aleutian Tiger" folder name was, for example:

\P40E_Warhawk

it should be renamed

\P40E_Aleutian Tiger (with the "Aleutian Tiger" textures)

whilst the duplicated folder with the RAAF textures will retain the old

\P40E_Warhawk (now with RAAF textures)

folder name. In your missions your P-40E shall be dressed in RAAF colours.

I hope I was clear enough.

Cheers!
