Well, I already have an 80 Gig Seagate Baracuda SATA drive in my system. But I am thinking of picking up another one to bring my total HDD space to around 160Gig. I saw where the price has dropped to $59 on Newegg.

I don't really have any itention of running a RAID setup, I dunno how to set it up and I am not to sure on the pros and cons to it. I just wanted to add a second HDD in for more space.

I have 2 80 GB sata drives and have them set up as 2 drives
I use 1 as a weekly backup. (clone)
raid is only useful to make 2 drives seem as 1.

Well the idea I have for my drives is this. I have Windos OS, all my system drivers, and my CFS2 install on my current SATA drive. But I would use my second SATA drive to hold my FS9 install, and my IL2 FB+AEP+PF install, and the rest of the room open for my other applications. Good idea?

Wolfe I use 2 40gig hard drives C and D. OS and all my programs on C with D relegated only to FS9 and CFS2. Anything to do with flight programs goes to D and everything else to C.

I think for one thing keeping the drives defragged is simpler and faster. D doesn't get fragmented too bad.

Thinking about an external hard drive for a backup for my next project.

Well I am gglad I got SATA drives. I ended up useing both my IDE slots for my DVD and CD RW drives. I remember trying to connect them in to one slot, but they canceled each other out till I seperated um. Oh well. :)

I guess I'll have an E drive then. ;)
