Good evening to all, I call to you because I have no real talent to realize repaints on our favorite planes. I thus wanted to know if somebody is interested to create a repaint for Manfred Jahn's DC-3 of the French company "AIGLE AZUR".http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/311678ob347864bd65c47746908e7cb5697b074fcaavion234 .jpg (http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=311678ob347864bd65c47746908e7cb5697b 074fcaavion234.jpg)http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/658927PAigleAzurSept064c.jpg (http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=658927PAigleAzurSept064c.jpg)Thank you in advance,Best regards.

I have been looking at the possibilities, but so far not more than that.

Good evening and thanks for your answer, so it means you're interested?

Jules, that means I have looked on it and as already said nothing more. The fact I looked at it shows I most probably will do the repaint as soon as I find some time. The repaint isn't very complex especially as I can use Gman's excellent paintkit and bare metal textures as a start for it. However the letters and logos need to be drawn by hand, which is always a time consuming thing.

Cheers,
Huub

Both the lightning and letters still need some improvement.

The scenery is VFR France Haute Normandy, with the Etretat fix installed.

Below a few unedited screenshots.

aah, France VFR, I have a lot of their stuff already, but clearly I need more...

Looking good, but shouldn't the anti-glare panel be a bit larger?

I have spend many holidays along the French channel coast, from "Pas de Calais" until the "Vendee". Thats most probably why I love the VFR France scenery.

Yes the anti glare panel is one of the things I still need to work on. Also the rudder should be aluminium dope instead of polished metal.

BTW For those who had not yet noticed, the model is the F-AZTE dressed as the F-BEFD from Aigle Azur. The original Aigle Azur aircraft had Azur blue cowlings.

Huub

October 2006. The F-AZTE painted in Aigle Azur colours to celebrate the 60th anniversary of this airline.

A few small compromises as there are some minor differences between manfred's model and the real F-AZTE. But I think I'm there.

Very realist! Thanks! Is the black part on the nose biggest in reality?

Jules, the anti glare panel, which is the black part on the nose, has the correct size in my opinion. The problems are in the back. The hinges of the cargo door and the vents are in a different position on the model, compared with the real F-AZTE. But as said, I'm satisfied, I hope you are too.

Huub

Manchester was a regular destinatuion for Aigle Azur. The F-BFGC as seen on Manchester (EGCC) on 3 April 1953.

Originally I had planned to do textures, both the original (F-BFGC) and -replica (F-AZTE), in one package. As I didn't know how must time the second repaint would take I made it two separate downloads.

They look very similar, however there are quite some differences. The second one has been uploaded as well.

enjoy,
Huub
