First, noticed on some planes the guns have tendency when damaged(told that was the cause) to continue flashing externally, even when out of ammo, which looks silly and is hard to ignore.Only solution I can think of is to go in DP and make it so guns are not able to be damaged or destroyed on planes? How would I do this exactly. Below is the DP of F4U-1 birdcage.

Question, in an airfile, what is "critical altitude"? This is the altitude for best performance or ? Thanks.

The definition of "critical altitude" is that it is the altitude ceiling for the engine to continue producing the same level of power that it can at sea level. Above this altitude, the power the engine can produce begins to fall off rapidly.

It is a combination of supercharger equipment, engine displacement, manifold pressure, compression ratio, and octane. As an example, a normally aspirated engine (such as a P-39 or P-40, with a single-speed, single-stage supercharger) will start to fall off in performance as it climbs above 12,000 or 15,000 feet. This is the Allison's "critical altitude."

The United States Army Air Corps with its infinite stupid only let turbo chargers be fitted to bombers and the P-38. All others where stuck with superchargers that become quite useless at 12,000 to 15,000. Had the USAAC hadn't fooked up the P-39 the US would have had a fighter that could deal with the Zero.

From what I know. Bell was farken pissed at the USAAC for what they did to the P-39 but where broke and needed the money so they let them fark up the P-39. Even being neutered the P-39 wasn't bad as "history" has it.
