Thanks to wuhwuzdat!
....in a way to integrate Ivan Hsu's MDLC utility into the Windows user interface?
For those of you who are unfamiliar with MDLC, its a command line based utility that , among other functions, can add dynamic shine to existing MDL files, or add the ability to use reflective textures (just the ability, the textures must have an alpha channel in order to be reflective).
being a command line utility, it's somewhat tedious, and sometimes difficult to master.
I have come up with a way to make adding reflective texturing, or dynamic shine, as easy as right clicking on the mdl file, and selecting the function( and level of shine) that you wish to apply. (SEE PICTURE)
I am using a series of batch files, with windows registry entries to start them.
If enough people are interested, I will do some fine tuning on it, prepare a README and upload.
I warn you ahead of time, this isn't just your flight sim you would be modifying, this is your OPERATING SYSTEM...proceed with caution.
It has caused no ill effects on my systems (WIN98SE, 2000pro, and XP home), but I cannot predict what side effects it may have on every possible system.
Jeff
(note to Ivan Hsu, My upload will not include any of your original files, but will simply be a windows shell interface to your wonderful program)
