40,000 acres from 2:30 or so yesterday afternoon, its 20 mins to 9am now,174 homes, businesses and even a school has burned.people had only seconds in some places to flee.one woman shown on a local morning show from Sacramento, stated that she ran out of her front door, the fire was across the street,by the time she got to her car,her home was on fire, the paint on the car was bubbling, and her right tennis shoe was on fire, she started her truck and fled, the trucks plastics and paint was on fire!
the town of Middletown Ca,is basically gone,im not exaggerating.

if you can donate ,please do,ill try to find some addresses ect ,but the red cross is the best bet.people complain about the RC but trust me,when it comes to fires, from a small apartment to major conflagrations like the Valley Fire and the Butte Fire.people are losing everything they own,the kids at the soccer game lost everything but the uniforms they were wearing.

the Valley fire has been spotting over a mile ahead, this type of fire activity is normally only seen in southern california with the santa anna winds.my RV is full of smoke and im having diffaculty with it.im worried about my cat,and im one hundered miles from each fire.

</header>Still another fire in California is causing havoc. The Valley Fire reported at 1:24 p.m. PT on Saturday grew to 10,000 acres within six hours. By 10 p.m. it had exploded to 25,000 acres and at 6 a.m. Sunday CAL FIRE PIO Daniel Berlant said it had burned 40,000 acres.

There are unconfirmed reports that dozens of homes have burned but the actual number has not been released by authorities. The towns of Cobb, Middletown and Hidden Valley were some of the areas hardest hit. There is a report that a school burned in Middletown.
Many areas along Highways 175 and 29 are under mandatory evacuation orders, encompassing at least 17 miles along those two highways.
The map of the Valley Fire below shows the fire perimeter as surveyed by an aircraft at 12:04 a.m. PT on Sunday.

The fire is 66 miles north of San Francisco, 7 miles south of Clearlake, and 50 miles west of Sacramento.
Four firefighters working on the Valley Fire suffered second degree burns (http://wildfiretoday.com/2015/09/12/four-firefighters-burned-on-the-valley-fire-in-northern-california/) Saturday and were transported to the Firefighters Burn Institute at the University of California at Davis. At 8 p.m. Saturday Mr. Berlant said they were in stable condition.
This summer two other large fires burned in the same general area east of Highway 29 and southeast of Clearlake. The Rocky Fire (http://wildfiretoday.com/2015/08/05/weather-provided-a-reprieve-on-the-rocky-fire-tuesday-but-warmer-and-drier-weather-to-return/) burned about 70,000 acres and the Jerusalem Fire (http://wildfiretoday.com/2015/08/10/jerusalem-fire-new-wildfire-near-rocky-fire-in-california/) blackened at least 23,000. Like the Valley Fire, those fires spread very, very quickly the first day.
Some firefighters surmise that the explosiveness of these fires can be primarily attributed to drought-stricken desiccated vegetation. The other two factors that affect wildland fire behavior, topography and weather, have not been extreme influences as the fires spread.

</header>Four firefighters working on a new wildfire in northern California suffered burns Saturday afternoon. Daniel Berlant of CAL FIRE said they were part of a helitack crew suppressing the Valley Fire. The firefighters from CAL FIRE helicopter 104 were transported to the Firefighters Burn Institute at the University of California at Davis.
At 8 p.m. on Saturday Mr. Berlant said the four fighters all suffered second degree burns and were in stable condition.
The Valley fire grew to 10,000 acres within six hours after it started at 1:24 p.m. By 10 p.m. it had exploded to 25,000 acres.
The Valley Fire is burning about 8 miles west of the Rocky Fire that burned about 70,000 acres near Clearlake, California north of San Francisco. It also grew very quickly, blackening over 8,000 acres within six hours of starting at 4:10 p.m. PT on July 29 (http://wildfiretoday.com/2015/07/30/rocky-fire-near-clearlake-ca-burns-8000-acres-in-first-6-hours/).
Mr. Berlant said the Valley Fire has caused evacuation orders to be posted for the communities of Cobb and Middletown.
THANKS AND A TIP OF THE HAT GO OUT TO DICK, KELLY, DAVID, AND BARBARA
