TheBookie,

I will send you an email or PM later today. Kdriver sent me some missions that may work very well with this. I also know the composition of Kakuta's / Hosogaya's force.

I found the e-mail with the Aleutian missions from over a year ago. I forgot I saved it.

It has 4 missions of the Japanese attack on Dutch Harbor covering June 3rd and 4th 1942. 2 Kate missions,1 val mission and 1 Zero mission.

14 missions from the US side covering to July 2.1942.

Two of these missions are P-40's intercepting Japanese planes.1 is intercepting Daves over Dutch Harbor and the other intercepting Kates headed back to the carriers. All the others are bombing missions using the B-17.B-24 and the PBY.

Also the correct coordinates for the airbases used in the missions.

Hand edited for PBY water takeoffs and weather. Talon figured out a way to get heavy overcast with and without lighting and rain.

TheBookie,

I know how to do that as well, I included multiple cloud decks as high as 30k for the 20th Fighter Group campaign.

I was sent some missions by Kdriver, and figure if we can throw this package together, it could be another homage to Talon, just as the Port Darwin pack will be.

Rami,

We are talking about 2 different things.

For overcast Al didn't use the overcast settings in the mission builder because he didn't feel it looked right in the Aleutians. He used thunderstorms and hand edited the parameters in the mission file to get what he wanted. It looks much better then the overcast settings.I may have saved that e-mail also.

I also know that some the planes made for the Aleutians had to have their names changed ( folder and cnfig file ) or the missions would crash with 2 or more of those particular planes.

TheBookie,

That would be interesting to look at. You can always learn a thing or two from the masters. :very_drunk:

Bob,

It would be wonderful to see these for myself. I have the names of ships in the Japanese task force all set, and would love to bring another untold story to life, just like Port Darwin.

Rami,

You seem to have everything underway and under control. My only obligation was to let you have the GSL.

I will tell you this though. Uncle T did skins for the Ryujo Kate and Junyo Val. I found them the other night.

TheBookie,

I understand that, but there's no point to doing it if I'm not doing both sides, in part as an homage to him. Writing the missions from scratch is a real hassle, and considering that Al and I spoke on Skype several times a month and we were good friends, I'm sure that he wouldn't have minded. He was good that way.

Rami,

I also knew him.been to his homes in both Hawaii and NJ and went sailing on his boat a few time.

We talked about CFS2, CFS3 and IL2 mission building, his music and model railroad. (which I saw)

He also spoke of some people in the CFS2 community.

A couple of years ago he read post some members were having problems with missions he did for your DOA Campaign and decided to look to see what the problem was. After looking at them he noticed that they really weren't his work because of the changes you made. His one comment was "Well Rami always thinks he knows better then everyone else when it come to mission building." The other was Rami will never get anymore of my missions to play with and change to what he thinks is best.

This comment he made was his way of giving you a message.

SPman,

I think you have me confused with Rami. He is the Master and Guru of Mission builders. I'm just a novice compared to him. At least in his mind that is.

Hey,

I'm leaving this alone, please forget I said anything. No need to take it any further.
