Hi all,

I have to look for a new Joystick, mine is going to heaven... the coolie hat just doesn´t do it anymore.
It`s a Saitek CYBORG 3D USB - I have it for ages and like(d) it very much.

I was looking for a good used one (Cyborg 3D Gold) at ebay, and these 10 year old stuff does cost nothing anymore.
"Never used much, collects only dust, now for sale"..

I also stumbled over several Force Feedback from that time. I never used it, but would spend a few Dollars / Euros for a used one just to test it out.

I do not have that much time for CFS2 anymore, but I am willing to spend a few bucks more today.
Even up 100,- but this should be a killer then.

This thrustmaster seems to be very good, especially the accuraccy near the center of the stick.

On the other hand, this one seems cool too and offers trim wheels. I would really like that.

But on the other hand, I need to put my flightsim stuff away after simming to secure it form the kids - so a Set might be too much, but is not completely out.

It must have USB, Twist Axis (I am using no pedals) and a lot of buttons. Force feedback is not a must, Trimwheels a nice gimmick.

So please, recommed good new ones, but also very nice old ones. I might even buy me these oldies in used condition just to test them!

I use a rather less expensive one, The Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Has more than enough buttons and I find it to be a very
good .

Added: I purchased 2 , one for a spare, at Best Buy ( a chain store in the US ) both New for $39.00 each.

Jaxon, I can't say much about newer sticks, as I am using exactly what you had, a 12 year old Cyborg Gold USB. It has never failed me, and I like it so much, I found a used one on Amazon and bought it in case the primary stick becomes U/S (unserviceable). I say go with what you know.

I wish Saitek or some other manufacturer would come out with a force feedback stick. Had the Microsoft force feedback model years ago, and should've kept it. NC

Jaxon I have the same joystick you have and love it! I found this link if it's any help. I see the ones on ebay are a lot cheaper.

I agree wholeheartedly. I have a Logitech G940 (?) in the garage that has FF but I found that it was very flakey in use and unless it was unplugged between uses, the FF motor would grumble continuously. I had the MS one years ago and that was very good. Sheesh, the base unit on that thing was heavy. But currently it is something certainly lacking.

Hey guys. My Microsoft FF2 is getting long in the tooth, but still works.
I just bought a Logitech Extreme 3D pro from Office Depot, but I find the stick very stiff compared to my MS FF. What about this issue, or have I just gotten used to the easy movement MSFF2. I rarely use ff anyway.
I have 14 days to return the Logitech. I will work with it for a few days.
Thanks for any input.

Interesting answers.

It seems, THE ONE OF MY DREAMS, that I was looking does not exist.
The SAITEKs and LOGITECHs around 50 Bucks are OK, but Users report fast wear on each of them.

The PRO Stuff is to expensive and has no twist axis - intended for use with rudders.

In the meantime I bought me a used Cyborg 3D Gold for 10 Euros - it is just plug and play on my setup - perfect!

I guess, I will looking for a used SAITEK X52 Set next!
