On the nigh of 9-10 July 1943 The Invasion of Sicily took place as Operation Husky. American and British troops arrived in Messina on 17 August, just as the last Axis troops evacuated Sicily.
The Germans swiftly disarmed the Italian Army and took over its defensive positions. A British fleet sailed into the harbor of Taranto and disembarked troops onto the docks, while the U.S. Fifth Army under
Lt. Gen. Mark W. Clark landed on the beaches near Salerno on 9 September. The Germans reacted in strength. For four days vigorous attacks by German armor threatened the beaches. But on 16 September American and British forces made contact, and two weeks later American troops entered Naples, the largest city south of Rome.

To Accomplish before 2300 hours:
Take off and fly along the coast and deliver special package 445566XPT to Lt. Patricia Leggyon of the 3th Regiment of women nurses at location 55WXS.
Leave 55WXS and deliver "secret" bags marked "FGR-kkooCC5" to location 778833 to Major Miggy Lacross Burth where she will give the pilot envelope "2233VCX".
Take off and land at Taranto Naval Base where Lt.Col Anna Marcia Blothworth will board aircraft, deliver such person to base in Regio Calabria.
Note: You will be flying in conflicting areas with many Kraut Anti-Aircraft stablishments so use caution to the outmost, fly high and swoop down fast as you get to mentioned locations above.---
Note that this is a difficult Mission with all kind of surprises to weary pilots,
such as, engine failure, ack ack fire, possible "Foo" fighters have been reported too, and one pilot has reported seeing "Ghost Fighters!!!"...yep, pilot officer----anything is Game!!!!!
