Today have been flying the Stampe and trying two of Peter Watkin's latest repaints, namely G-AWEF and G-ASHS of the Tiger Club at Redhill. This is my home town and in the late 1960s, I can remember of walks down the local lanes, seeing yellow biplanes in the air. I must have been five or six at the time. Years later, I flew a Tiger Moth from there to Booker. Not Yellow, but Green and Brown, but still brought a smile to my face when remembered those yellow biplanes.
Tried today to emulate the Club's Stampe Duo routine, but realise need a lot of practice. What is useful as a display line is the main railway track heading due east which takes me from Redhill straight to Headcorn. Who needs maps or GPS when they have IFR - I follow railways!
