You never know............ When Tufun started a thread about upgrading the Grumman F3F-2, suddenly AH came up with a brand new version.

Hopefully my upgrade of the AH Bristol Bulldog will do the same :biggrin-new:. So far I've been working on the textures only. Some of the original gauges don't work in FSX and most of the look very old.

Enjoy the pictures!

Wishful posting :D

Good improvements IMHO, especially the fabric rudder looks far better this way. And the bare metal.

Ha ha Daan, it doesn't necessarily have to be AH re-doing this model. Perhaps its more something for Golden Age Simulations (to be their first European fighter!) or somebody like Craig Richardson..... Or even perhaps a Tacpac able version by Vertigo ;-))

Cheers,
Huub

Dave the Bulldog in your screenshot is the Alphasim version. The version I'm currently working on is the Aeroplane Heaven one.

The model file is dated 2003. I guess it was of the first payware packages I bought. (The AH Battle of Britain package for CFS2 was the first one.)

In 1929 the US Navy purchased a Bristol Bulldog for evaluation. On October 25, 1929, the Bulldog II (c/n 7358, s/n A-8485) was tested by the US Navy at Anacostia, but during a dive-bombing run, an aileron failed causing the plane to crash and killing the pilot Lt. Cuddihy. After static tests at Filton, a modification was made to the wing and a replacement Bulldog (c/n 7398, s/n A-8607) was sent to the US Navy on February 24, 1930.

Cheers,
Huub

In Jeffery Quill's book "Spitfire, A Test Pilot's Story", he writes about his experience flying Bulldogs. Apparently it was quite "a hand full" to fly and land well. Very interesting stuff.
