There was a chap a few years ago who was hand fabricating a Spitfire V cockpit for flight sim use and to say the level of detail and expertise was impressive doesn't do him or the word justice. If you didn't know you'd be hard pressed to tell his work apart from airworthy flight items. The last entry on his page was sadly some years ago - 2007 - so I've no idea where the project stands now, but if you love the Spit and appreciate first class mechanical and fabrication skills go take a look (http://simhardware.org/)...
