I bought it - I am very impressed.

Little things can make a huge difference and this Tree enhancement package is an example of that.

Looks much better than default (granted I have only one test flight so far)...but more importantly - ORBX made the claim that these trees would be far less punishing on frame rates than the default ones (by an increase of 20% FPS)

I don't know about that - but - I loaded a flight from KORS to KHFR to take a look and my rig had no problem pinning the 31 FPS lock I have set...it dipped to 29.6 at one point, but otherwise - this alone makes the pack interesting.

It decreased my loading time by 5 minutes.
What I don't like is the gum trees in Australia
are completely wrong.Wrong trees and wrong
colour.Eucalipts are a pale dusty gray/pale green colour,
not dark green.

Anthin.

I'm just going to assume the pack isn't perfect and that it will be upgraded as more people use it and provide feedback - I fly in the ORBX pacific coastal North America regions from the Tongass Fjords down to the Central Rockies and Northern California, but you are right about
the eucalyptus trees being pale and or dusty green in R/L

I have Orbx PNW and PF. Will the trees work both inside and outside Orbx regional sceneries?

NOTE:

Years ago, Scott Armstrong developed a set of autogen tree replacement textures for FS9; good to see him doing so for FSX & P3D as well ! :mixed-smiley-010:

Just for the sake of comparison, could someone please explain the differences between Obrx's Tree addon, and Zinertek's Tree Environment? :wiggle: Thanks, NC

Glad to see the interest here. I purchased this package yesterday and in the midst of testing. So far the trees look somewhat improved in the Redding / Northern California area and I do believe there is a slight improvement in performance. To early to tell. Keep the comments coming. Appreciate all the input.

I'm testing in the Sierra Nevada (FTX NorCal both sides of the crest... mostly on the west side, of course) from Susanville down to Lone Pine. Trees definitely look better... really noticeable around places like Lake Tahoe and Lake Almanor. I don't notice any performance increase, but then I'm pegged at my 30 fps frame rate lock most of the time anyway. For sure there doesn't seem to be a performance hit for me. Thus far this seems like a very nice enhancement.

I found no detectable performance hit in either FSX or P3D. But no detectable performance improvement either. All depends on your settings I suppose. Must fly low and slow to get the full emersion of the new HD trees. Here's a single shot at Shasta, P3D, HDR. Overall it's OK, but do not expect to be wow'd right away. It will take some time to look for the best locations around the world to see the full impact of this add-on.

I've been spending the last month or so flying around Hawaii over sparsely annotated photo-real, so I'm not going to jump on this asap, but it looks pretty good. Where I see it coming into it's own is flying in and out of small bush strips in the NW states or Western Canada. Will be eventually picking it up, but for now I'm happy to read everyone's impressions. :)

I like this new kind of trees! 3 screenies with Cessna A2A. For me it looks better than "default" ORBX trees. 1024pxt works ok too.
