That was cool. I know next to nothing about French carrier aviation. Were/are the French carriers built in France or are they ex US Navy etc?

The French build their own carriers. This one is nuclear powered, built at the Brest Naval Shipyard. I didn't know our C-2s operate with them, but it makes sense, as the French navy has some E-2s. That approach sure looked a lot smoother than my FSX approaches!

Most of the current US and French Naval Aircraft have common interoperability between our Carriers and the CDG. Not sure if we can shoot the Super Etendard with it's bridle fittings.

That's good stuff, Storm. Good to see we can operate together if needs be. I saw a video some years ago that showed Argentine Navy Super Etendard's running touch-n-goes on US CVs going around The Horn. Not sure if it was before or after the "unpleasantness" between them and the UK...

O.T. That FA-18 landing on the French CV was a VFA-94 Shrike bird! :) I wonder why they "pixelated" the pilot and plane captain's names of the side of the ship though...

Don't know if I've ever seen a bow as a response to a salute before; sort of cool!
