The Italian Air Force received 120 P-38's, mainly P-38L's, after the war and used them until 1955.

Hi Jan,
Many of these planes were from USAAF scrap and the clever A.M.I. technicians done many "myracles" in order to maintain them in order and bought WITH OWN MONEY (!) also other scrapped a/c for spare parts.....
I hope You'll upload soon this livery !!!

Its amazing the history, on following JKs paints I pulled a book from the shelf 'Aces of the Might Eighth' it dose cover the pilots history so also covers the Ninth AF as well and early Pacific, one thing pointed out was there longevity much like a few others , the P-47 and Corsair .. last into the mid 1960s with other airforces , I do like how JK covers these.
