While in Multiplay participants can certainly simulate many things in Free Flight,
what about Single playing with Tacpack ?... An FSX Mission, edited for the F-14D :

Speaking about Single play with Tacpack, from my perspective, FSX Missions
is the closest way for simulating Military Ops in FSX.

Does it worth the effort ? Is there any interest about this ? Opinions - Comments ?

PS : I don't intend to make money from this !... :adoration: I'm just wondering if there would be
enough interest for some few Mission builders to "gather" and make Military Scenarios for the
"community"... If there an interest exists. That's all.

Yes, this is a good idea, I'd like to see something like this.
BTW, I think it's important to make a readme file for a pack like this, about how can others edit the mission file for their own TP-ed plane, because a mission is made for Dino's F-14D, but maybe a lot of people would like to fly it with their AS F-14A/B or with the VRS Superbug or M2M Mirage 2000. ;)

That's really easy :
Go right now to the native FSX Military Missions Menu (that you already have) and

Just tick the box : "Allow changes in selected missions (no rewards given)"

Select the Mission you want to fly, press "Fly Mission" and from inside Mission's environment
use the Menu bar to change Aircraft, Time of Day or Weather to what you like !...

Quite similar to Free Flight... isn't it ?

Death Valley training : the concept of AI capable of intercepting & shooting player down.

Ok, here you go guys : https://www.mediafire.com/?pkrd87l1ccd24kc

http://i1368.photobucket.com/albums/ag200/xpelekis/DV_zpsbsczfxt2.gif

As a first sample, this is an updated mission sitting in my drive for a while and meant for testing purposes. Same concept as in video of 1st post.
AIs (2 x Mig21s, included) will turn towards your direction trying to intercept you inside engagement area (about 20 x 20Km wide, 3Km high).
If you overshoot in front of Migs or don't take care and find yourself placed inside "AI's missile area" situated at the front of AI
and with dimensions : 2000m long x 600m wide, you go down...

Don't expect from AIs barrel rolls or loops in FSX where AIs are simulated to fly as civilian planes. But if not some
developer comes with something better, this the closest thing for AI Aerial Combat simulation in FSX currently...
Saying that, AIs turn rate is good enough, as also due to 55o max bank angle (defined in mission) they also move
in the vertical during turns. This results, their "firing area" to scan at the vertical also (downwards when entering a turn
& upwards exiting).
Bringing them down with missiles is easy of course, but with Tacpack guns they present some challenge.

PS : I added another feature in mission at the last moment and forgot to mention in "Read Me" : "G load breathing" over 5 sustained Gs.

As AIs currently fly, they meant more as tactical units petrolling areas of Operations, where player's workload (say bombing, many AIs, SAMs, etc) may abstract
his attention from them being in the area and thus nasty surprises may occur.

Hey guys, the Metal2Mesh Mirage can truck in guided bombs and from the Super Bug you lase the target and the Mirage drops them to the target.
