My image was too large in an unsuccessful attempt to send the repaint up, thanks Dave for solving that.

This was a rather simple repaint of an aircraft of a rather simple ace. Back when Stuart Green released his SPAD VII for FS 2002/2004, Corsair 14F listed a link here at SOH to the website devoted to Louis de Diesbach: (http://www.diesbach.com/belleroche/louis/louis1893.html). Be sure and open the PDF dopcument in the .zip for a short history on the pilot.

Louis de Diesbach volunteered in September 1913 (Arras, N° 218) and entered with the 21st Dragons in Saint-Omer (October 2, 1913). He became a Sergeant (April 1915) and transferred to aviation school to qualify as a pilot pupil (June 17, 1916). He passed as pilot on a Farman (October 1, 1916).
Combat record of Louis de Diesbach: 5 approved air victories including 3; wounded in aerial combat on SPAD VII (May 3, 1917). His wounds were rated at 100 % and he rehabilitated to 80%, but could not continue his flying career.

Squadron N 15/SPA 15 was identified with the "Helmet of Bayard", a helmet of a knight with a long plume. This emblem was selected in 1916 by the captain Rene Marie Joseph Turin (Brest 7.2.1879 - Vermandovillers 6.9.1916) and was sometimes painted on the fuselages in white, black, or red.
