Was looking further down the forums and saw a thread mentioning this. Would post this there but it's a ghost town.

Anyway with all highly detailed ships out and a Naval TacPack I think it could be done.

Hey don't laugh I remember when people scoffed at the TacPack idea.....now look at it.

I have been tinkering with adding Tacpack weapons to WWII aircraft, but have not even thought about adding them to ships. Have you given any thought to the upcoming FSX@War? I am not really sure if this will enable surface warship weapons or not.

Are there any tacpack enabled WW2 warbirds? I have tacpack and am unaware of any. In particular a tacpack enabled WBS P-51 or spitfire (from someone), would be outstanding.

As for ships, on my Metal2Mesh Mirage 2000, I can launch Air to surface anti ship missiles and sink ships now.

Yes on the WWII, head over to the VRS forums for details.

That is not entirely fair. It is real, it does exist and it pretty much works. Before bailing out of FSX and migrating to P3Dv2 I was using it to create scenery/battlefield/campaign theator.

It is not easy to use, the interface is confusing as hell and there are major limitations, but it does exist and it does work. Coolest thing is placing moving targets in the world, that is really fun.

Biggest downer for me is that it does not allow you to place anything in the world that actually shoots back. You still have to start your flight and then, as the pilot, go thru and place your AAA/SAM threats yourself. This is not so much a limitation of FSX@War as it is a limitation of TacPack.

I want to integrate TP into my WBS P-51 and Milviz F-86 for guns at least. I cant find instructions on doing this. Anybody know how? I checked the VRS support site under their integration forum, and saw mention of it, but no instructions.

The instructions are located within the VRS SDK Wiki using the example of adding guns to the default C-172. On the VRS forums, the helo section is also gaining some traction with a few adding guns/rockets/flares to freeware models. The A2A Stang has been done and you should be able to adapt those settings to other models. I'm still learning how to do this as I want all my mil models to at least have flares/RWR for TP play. http://forums.vrsimulations.com/support/index.php/TacPack_SDK

The link posted by Victory103 that you quoted contains instructions in the very first post to integrate TacPack into the A2A P51. These should be easily transferable to the WBS P51. You'll have to adjust the gauge number, & "station_load" numbers to suit the WBS model. The tacpack.ini will work, but you'll need to edit the "StoresFirst" entry to match the first station_load entry.
It's fairly straightforward when you get the hang of it.

Note, you won't get any gun tracer or sound effects as they're not part on TacPack and must be added separately. I've made a gauge to toggle light effects based on tacpack trigger state and ammo count (http://forums.vrsimulations.com/forums/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=109&t=14749) but it needs to be tailored to each individual model.

I fly mostly Naval aircraft, but I have integrated Tackpack into my Just Flight F4F,Wings of Power A6M5,Realair Spitfire, SkyUnlimited P-38, and Vertigo SBD. It is really not too difficult.

Just a question here... I admit to being lazy. :adoration: Has anyone else configured the WBS P-51 to work with tacpack? if so, are there specific files that are properly configured that can be shared without violation of any payware copyright? We trade skins all the time. Would be cool if appropriate panel cfgs etc could also be shared. While developing the knowledge personally is great, it would be nice to share the collective workload.

I haven't TacPacked the WBS Mustangs yet. I don't really use FSX these days, being mainly a P3d flyer. When TP is released for P3d (soon hopefully!) I'll probably get around to it.
