Hi guys,

As many know, Milton Shupe is working on a Rockwell Commander 685 for FS9 with an FSX version to follow. Well I have the source files for that aircraft and decided that a Turbo Commander will be available as well, but for FSX only since FS2004 already has the Veneaviones models. Attached is a ready in 3DS Max after I spent an hour removing materials and unsmoothing parts. There is no timeframe as to when it will be done due to my limited time. For now, it is the straight wing variant, not sure about the winglet version, I will see about that version being done. For now, enjoy this render:applause:

We should mention that this Rockwell Commander model was done by "rotohub" (not me) using AC3D (ported to gmax) and you can see more down in the Design Forum.

I simply provided the animations, mapping, and VC panel and gauges for FS9.

Agreed, still fly them in FS2004 occasionally

Awesome news on both new Twin Commanders!

Re the turbine version, what would be great to have is the Dash 10 Commander 1000 version, which would compliment the Veneaviones 690B model which that have ported over to FSX.

The 1000 has a slightly different window arrangement, but the specs make it a top performer in its class, eg 300 + knts and it is claimed better fuel efficiency than a single engine PC-12. It would pip in performance/efficiency the PC-12, Turbine Duke and most King Airs.

This is really beautiful work and I can't wait to see the result. Really brings back memories of flying these big body Commanders. Back in the late 70s I flew a 680FL for a couple of hundred hours, followed by about the same amount of hours in a 681 when the owner decided he needed something that burned Jet-A. Thanks for the trip down memory lane and I'm really looking forward to adding this to the FS2004 690B and all of Mr. Shupe's stable mates.

Exterior mapping done, minus the small bits. Some animations are already built in. 199881998719986

As for a Piper Aztec, would love one myself, not sure I could deliver one though

That's what you said back in 2003 for the AC500 :-)

I'm still singing that song, baby! LOL! I flew both in r/l, so I really, really want both. :)

18 propeller blades, 6 spinners, custom propeller discs and custom alpha channels make up the entire propeller system. Although currently using default animations, the entire propeller system will have custom coding built in. Also, First layer of white paint to check for errors and discrepancies. Besides some areas needing smoothing, everything is looking good. External model minus the smaller bits mapped on 2 sheets. Gear mapping also has started with animations to follow once done with mapping. The external model is almost close to being finished.

Some new images.

Exterior is about 90% mapped with various bits and pieces in need of texturing. Painting is ongoing as well

Animations about 70% complete. I am looking into doing a simulated Garrett TPE331 engine simulation similar to Flysimware's Cessna 441 Conquest, I will have a chat with Mark Taylor to see how he did it

Interior mapping and texturing is in it's first stages and hopefully should be done in a few weeks or less, it all depends on my time though

Arild (rotorhub) is possibly redoing the nacelles. I am awaiting his response so I can send him material needed to do the nacelles. Winglets are also planned

After the 690 series is done, there is a possibility I may do the remaining larger 840, 900, 980 and 1000 series aircraft as those four are essentially the same airframe.

Looking for a painter(s) to do a paintkit and some liveries

Been a while since the last update as I have multiple projects across the boards right, so I had some time to work on this one tonight. The model has now spawned winglets as shown in the renders. As of today, the exterior is about 95% complete with little left to do including the coding of the custom lighting. Interior work is only at 30% complete as I am redoing the interior walls. Of course, I could use someone to do a paintkit for the bird. Anywho, I'll post another update soon:wavey:

Oh it's absolutely gorgeous! :jump:

Not only is this one great looking and great flying aircraft, it has immense efficiency and utility as well. I can't wait to see the finished product. I have tried to get Aerosoft interested in commissioning development of this a/c for years. On the Garrett simulations maybe there is something to be learned by studying the Bronco or the Metroliner?

If I win the Powerball, I'm headed to Eagle Creek for one of their Dash 10's. You guys can keep your Moo-Two's.

Crikey!

Seems like I've to do this one (released in 2010 for the FS9 Veneaviones version) all over again...:

Well, I hope so Wild Bill Kelso; it looks great!

Maybe it would look good on the AC685 that Rotohub and I are working on as well. :-)

That looks great! I'll definitely get a lot of flight time out of one of those. :)

I guess I should have seen it coming after the TP version, but it's still great to see we will get both.

Actually, the 685 is the original. The 690 is being spawned off Rotohub's AC685 thanks to Euroastar350. :-)

Still being worked on. I had someone offer to do the entire range of the Turbo Commander, but I'm not sure if that will continue. As with most aircraft projects, I could use some manuals, especially for the cockpit area as finding diagrams is quite a chore. I didn't forget about this one, so it's not a dead project. And there is one person running Eagle Rotorcraft Simulations at the moment (myself), so projects are coming at a slow pace.
